Qiu Chuji really entered the palace for the sake of monasticism and became the ancestor of eunuchs in Ming and Qing Dynasties?

Many friends are familiar with the Quanzhen seven sons of Quanzhen Sect.

After all, they all grew up watching the remakes of old Jin Yong's books and TV series.

So what is the real Quanzhen Qizi like?

Today, Bai Zhou will talk about one of them who is quite popular-Changchun real person Qiu Chuji.

Let's start with the most famous Qiu Chuji in history. Naturally, he trekked three times in Vandory in the western regions and persuaded Genghis Khan at the age of over seventy.

Genghis Khan called him a "fairy" and asked him for advice on how to run the country and keep in good health. Qiu Chuji answered several questions, such as respecting heaven and loving the people, reducing slaughter, abstinence and so on. This question and answer is also called "Dragon Horse Club" in history (Genghis Khan is a horse and Qiu Chuji is a dragon). After they left, Genghis Khan also wrote a letter to Lu Ye Chucai (both of whom were acquaintances of Jin Yong's works) to write this dialogue as "Records of Feng Xuan Celebrations".

This is also the most famous Qiu Chuji story in history.

There is another interesting thing. During this trip to the western regions, his disciples wrote a book "Changchun Real Journey to the West", which is a rare and extremely detailed information on ancient customs in the western regions. This is also one of the important reasons why people think that The Journey to the West was Qiu Chuji before the Republic of China.

Then friends have to ask again, isn't Qiu Chuji bearded in the pictures in this book? Then why did you say the white boat was in the palace?

This is recorded in many books, especially after the Ming Dynasty, many eunuchs in Qiu regarded this celebrity as their ancestors and respected him very much.

Especially in his disciple Yin Zhiping, the Dragon Knight (in fact, this is also a grievance, so Jin Yong changed it to Zhen), and there is a saying that "Qiu Zu is pure" in the quotations of Qinghe Yin recorded by later generations.

Because in many portraits of Qiu Chuji, white is unnecessary. For example, Qiu Chuji in Collected Taoist Scriptures and The Authentic Legend of Jin Ping Mei:

For example, in The Collection of Imperial Quanzhen Qunxian, there are seven Quanzhen images, and the white face at the lower right is Qiu Chuji.

Also from the single portrait of Qiu Chuji in this painting collection.

It is said that Qiu Chuji left the palace for spiritual practice.

According to the data of Baizhou, there was a strange man named Qiu in the early Ming Dynasty who became a true believer. "In the early years of Hongwu, Zhang Sanfeng was recommended as the abbot of Wulong Palace, and a wise man was recommended as the imperial history." Zhu Yuanzhang wanted to win him over, so he gave him some beautiful women. Qiu did not dare to refuse, so he accepted it and entered the palace on the 19th day of the first month. This day is also called "Yan Jiu Festival", because Yan Zi is not good, it is called Yan Jiu.

He also said that Yan Jiu Festival commemorates Qiu Chuji's birthday, and the white boat is unreliable. However, it is said that there is an old custom in Beijing to have an outing before going to Baiyun Temple on the 19th day of the first month, which is called "Smoke Nine", which is probably also a variant of this activity.

Whether Qiu Chuji ever entered the palace is actually quite controversial, but this "Quanzhen Taoist Qiu" once entered the palace, but there is a history to test.

Bai Zhou thought it was eunuchs who put the title of this story on Qiu Chuji with a bigger title to add face to themselves. what do you think?
