Is marrying your aunt's cousin a close relative?

Of course not. According to the marriage law of our country, lineal blood relatives and collateral blood relatives within three generations are forbidden to get married. "Auntie's cousins" are not direct blood relatives, nor collateral blood relatives, but in-laws, so they can get married legally.

Article 7 of the Marriage Law prohibits marriage. Marriage is prohibited under any of the following circumstances:

(1) lineal blood relatives and collateral blood relatives within three generations;

(2) Suffering from diseases that are medically considered unsuitable for marriage.
