2. Performance. Both aquariums have animal shows. Shengya has a more profound storyline about animals, while Laohutan has more interactions between humans and animals. You can see what you like.

3. Play. Shengya has five pavilions. It is near Xinghai. After watching the aquarium, you can come out and feed the seagulls. You can also go to Xinghai Square to see the sea, which has a modern urban feel. In Laohutan, you can go to Fisherman's Wharf to experience the fishermen's proximity to the sea and the feeling of a fishing village.

4. Transportation. There is Metro Line 1 just outside Shengya Ocean Park, which is very convenient. There is no subway in Laohutan Ocean Park. I have been to Sunya, and at that time I took into consideration factors such as distance, price, and park. Shengya has five pavilions, but they are all very old, and all three pavilions are of the fake type. The facilities are not well maintained and the smell of sea water in the museum is particularly strong. The only thing that can make a name for itself is the longest undersea tunnel in Asia, but the tunnels are the ones where the staff take cameras to take pictures of you. In the off-season, the staff surround you, which doesn't feel good. The price in Shengya is cheap, less than 100 in the off-season. On the Xinghai side of the city center, the scenic spots are densely packed and transportation, food and accommodation are convenient.

Laohutan is a little further away and the price is higher. I didn't go, but I did my homework at the time. The content of the venues is roughly the same, and the performances are similar. It only has more bird singing forest than Shengya and you can watch bird performances. But to be honest, such performances are not very attractive.

Laohutan is very large, and it is very tiring to play there for a day. Shengya is very small and can be done in two to three hours. Generally speaking, there is not much difference between the two. If you are not too ambitious and want to see some marine life and have average physical strength or financial considerations, I recommend Shengya.

The venues of Laohutan Ocean Park are scattered. Laohutan Ocean Park covers a large area. It takes at least 45 minutes to walk from the park entrance to the exit (excluding Birdsong Forest). Therefore, it is suitable for young people with strong physical strength to visit.
