When children learn to speak, is it better to speak Mandarin or dialect?

Well, it depends. If you live in your hometown and everyone around you speaks dialects, then it is recommended that your children learn dialects. Because it is not easy to be confused, after all, people around you speak dialects, and it is a bit maverick for you to let your child learn Mandarin. Moreover, he may speak Mandarin at that time, but he can't speak dialects, let alone understand them, which is not good for his growth. It is better to let nature take its course and let him learn dialects.

I met many children who spoke dialects in their hometown when they were young, but after less than a year in big cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, they could not speak dialects when they came back, but spoke standard Mandarin. Therefore, when a child is young, he can be taught to learn dialects, whether he can speak Mandarin or not. When he goes to college and arrives in a big city, he will naturally take the initiative to speak Mandarin. After all, the most basic thing for him to find a job in the future is to be able to speak Mandarin, and some occupations also require that his Mandarin level must reach Grade 2 or above.

In fact, whether it is Mandarin or dialect, it is always the language of our country, and Mandarin is also evolved from dialect, so it doesn't matter which language you learn, and which language you need to learn. Speaking dialects now doesn't mean that I will only speak dialects in the future. When I was young, I learned to speak dialects. Now I don't speak dialects in college, I can speak Mandarin, but I still speak dialects when I return home. If I speak Mandarin at home, I'm pretending.

For children, what suits them is the most important thing. It doesn't matter what language they learn. After all, language is not born, but can be cultivated.
