Where are the host files?

The location of the host file is as follows:

Tools: Dell K550, Win 1 1, Settings.

1. First, we turn on the computer and click the "Computer" icon on the desktop to enter the computer disk page.

2. As shown in the figure, open the drive C \WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc in turn, and find the hosts file.

3. Double-click the host file to open the Open With option box. Select Notepad, and then click OK.

4. After opening, you can see the contents in Notepad as follows. This is plain text. Redundant words have been maliciously modified. Just delete it.

Host file function:

Hosts is a system file without extension, which can be opened with Notepad and other tools. Its function is to establish an associated "database" between some commonly used website domain names and their corresponding IP addresses.

When the user enters the web address in the browser, the system will automatically search the corresponding IP address from the host file. Once found, the system will immediately open the corresponding web page. If it is not found, the system will submit the URL to the DNS domain name resolution server for IP address resolution.

Hosts is a web browsing control file, which can control DSN pointing from the source and plays an important role in web browsing.
