This film describes the knight Godfrey, played by Jean Reno and Christis Claviere, and his attendant, Laffray Puyi, who was thrown into the modern age by a wizard's mistake in 1 122. They were surprised by modern facilities such as telephones, cars and bathrooms, and performed a series of jokes. Director Jean-Marie Poire is good at highlighting and playing the role of an actor, paying attention to the eclecticism of humorous words, burlesque and Gaul humor. This film "plays" with thousands of years of "time difference", makes full use of outdated customs and focuses on the surprise of medieval tourists when they face the ugly experience of modern electronic world. It uses a lot of special effects perfectly, so it becomes a funny thriller.
