Can SMS be used as evidence?

Legal analysis: SMS can be used as legal evidence, but it is more effective after notarization. In order to prevent the evidence of mobile phone short messages from being destroyed or difficult to obtain in the future, the parties may apply to the notary office for notarization preservation before prosecution, or apply to the people's court for preservation when prosecution.

(2) Documentary evidence;

(3) Physical evidence;

(4) Audio-visual materials;

(5) Electronic data;

(6) Testimony of witnesses;

(8) Records of the inquest.

Evidence must be verified before it can be used as a basis for ascertaining facts.
