This is a farewell letter left by a terminally ill man in Pan'an to his wife, and then he went into an abandoned mine alone to seek death.

After his wife called the police, nearly a hundred people including public security police, fire fighters, enthusiastic villagers, and the Pan'an County Civil Defense and Red Cross Rescue Team launched an intense search and rescue yesterday.

Xiao Fu from the Pan’an County Civil Defense Red Cross Rescue Team said that the man’s cancer relapsed for the third time.

Xiaoxia (pseudonym), the daughter of the missing man, said that her father, Lao Xia (pseudonym), is from Pan'an, and the "Jiao" in the farewell letter is her mother. Her parents have been married for nearly 30 years and their relationship has always been very good.

The police checked the surveillance and found that after losing contact with Lao Xia, he appeared in Liu'an Village, Incheon, Pan'an County at around 5 a.m. on the day of the incident. However, after walking across the river across the village, his whereabouts were unknown.

Rescue workers immediately launched a focused search near the village. At around 12:47 noon, good news came. Everyone found Lao Xia in an abandoned mine!

The entrance to this abandoned coal mine was partially closed due to a landslide. After Lao Xia entered, he sealed some of it back.

After the rescuers entered the pothole, they found that Lao Xia could still move, so they pulled him out of the hole. Relevant parties have also intervened to provide psychological counseling.
