Experience of BYD Han DiPilot Intelligent Driver Assistance System

In the new energy era, if we want to say which China brand is the best seller, it must be BYD. Since the comprehensive transformation of new energy sources, BYD has rapidly occupied the domestic new energy vehicle market with its mature three-electricity technology and excellent DM-i system, even comparable to Tesla, the leader of the new power of building cars.

With the development of new energy vehicles, the gradually popularized intelligent driving assistance system, especially the new forces of building cars, Tesla AutoPilot and Xpeng Motors XPilot have strong practicability. Then, as the leader of new energy vehicles, what is BYD's strength in intelligent driver assistance system? Today, I will take you on the road to experience it.

Test drive model: BYD Korea DM-i 242KM flagship model.

The test drive model is the 2022 BYD Korean DM-i 242KM flagship model (the guide price is 289,800 yuan), equipped with BYD's latest DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system. The evolution of BYD's Korean intelligence, from 3R 1V to 5r1v. For the first time, it has the ability of HWA high-speed driving assistance, and it is also constantly improving the intelligent experience through OTA upgrade. On the second anniversary of OTA in August this year, functions such as HWA high-speed driving assistance, dTCS distributed traction control system and DiTrainer coaching mode were introduced.

Today, BYD Han has five cameras, 12 ultrasonic radar and five millimeter-wave radars on the basic hardware, which supports ACC adaptive cruise, lane keeping, lane departure warning, lane change assistance, active braking, collision warning and other functions, reaching the+level of driving assistance capability and becoming BYD's "strongest" driving assistance system so far.

City scene: driving is comparable to "old driver"

City scene should be the most common and complicated road scene. In the case of normal straight driving, Han DM-i can identify the lane line stably and accurately, even if the lane line is blurred. If the vehicle enters the one-sided lane line from the two-sided lane line, it can also create a virtual lane line (solid line) to ensure stable driving in the center.

Turn on the LCC lane keeping function when following the car, and the driving condition of Korean DM-i is relatively stable, and the frequency of correction is relatively low. It can also follow a two-wheeled motorcycle, but it is not accurate enough to identify the types of surrounding vehicles. In most cases, a two-wheeled motorcycle will be recognized as a car, but it will not make you feel dangerous because of its good following ability.

When passing through the traffic lights, Han DM-i can automatically start the front car, and there will be a voice prompt: "The front car has started, please pay attention to the surrounding environment", which is more humanized and will not suddenly scare you. However, it is worth noting that if the traffic lights wait too long, the vehicle will temporarily quit LCC and need to actively step on the accelerator pedal to start. After re-entering the driveway, the LCC function will be restored.

Under the congested road conditions, the performance of Han DM-i can be called "old driver". Not only is it natural to follow the car, but the braking process of the vehicle is also very smooth. The following distance supports 4-level adjustment, and the shortest following distance is only 2.5 meters. It is not easy to be blocked by other vehicles under the condition of ensuring safety. It is definitely a great weapon to free your feet in traffic jams.

It is worth mentioning that the DiPilot intelligent driver assistance system of DM-i of Korea is stable both at day and night, and the identification of road lanes and surrounding vehicles is relatively in place, and there is little difference between actual use and daytime.

High-speed scene: cruise stability supports auxiliary lane change

After entering the high-speed, the DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system of DM-i of Korea can be said to have played a greater role. It goes without saying that it is easy to follow the car straight. The closed high-speed scene is actually simpler than the urban scene. Han DM-i can always drive in the middle without any disturbance, giving people a high sense of comfort and security. Moreover, the speed limit sign, navigation, cruising speed and other driving-related information can be displayed through HUD, and the display effect is also very good.

After some natural corners, Han DM-i can always keep driving in the center, and the frequency of steering wheel correction is very low, which gives people no obvious perception and makes driving more natural. It is worth mentioning that Han DM-i can also pass normally when passing through some corners with small curvature, such as ramps. The maximum passing speed is 60km/h, and the steering wheel automatically turns without manual operation. Of course, keep your hands on the steering wheel to ensure driving safety.

However, when encountering a curve scene with equal curvature, such as a bridge, we should pay more attention to it. The vehicle speed can pass stably under 40km/h, but due to the large angle, bending center will have obvious steering correction, which is not natural enough. At this time, it is still recommended to take over manually. After all, assisted driving is not automatic driving.

At high speed, changing lanes is probably the most common scene. After updating to the latest DiPilot system, Korean DM-i supports ILCA interactive lane-changing auxiliary function, and can automatically change lanes by turning on the turn signal, but the speed should be above 60km/h; When changing lanes automatically, if you encounter a car coming from behind, the car will have an obvious deceleration process. After the rear car passes, it will continue to carry out the lane change instruction, which is still relatively smart. The most important thing for intelligent driving assistance is to ensure safety.

It is worth mentioning that a red dynamic fan icon will be displayed behind the instrument screen when encountering some situations that do not meet the lane change conditions. Turning on the turn signal will prompt that "it is not suitable for lane change at present", and the lane line and lane change path on the corresponding side will also turn red, warning you not to change lanes at this time.

For many current driver assistance systems, the ability to identify objects that are stationary on the road is not too high. Korean DM-i also does not support obstacle recognition in the lane, but it can recognize the stationary vehicles in front when the speed is 60km/h, which also increases the safety of high-speed driving to some extent.

Novice weapon? The success rate of automatic parking is high

The function of automatic parking may not be useful for old drivers, but it is still very friendly for some novices, especially with the blessing of intelligent driving assistance system. The success rate of automatic parking is very high now.

Han DM-i can identify the parking spaces within 25km/h and the parking spaces on both sides of the vehicle at the same time. The maximum number of recognized parking spaces is 6, and the matching degree between the simulated picture and the real picture is good, so users can clearly choose the parking spaces they want.

In vertical parking, the vehicle can start parking after identifying the parking space, and there is basically no parking failure, and the success rate is still relatively high. It is worth mentioning that although the body length of Han DM-i is close to 5 meters, the requirements for space are not very high, parking can be completed in a relatively narrow space, and the vehicle's perception ability is relatively strong, but occasionally there will be limit piers. I don't know anything else.

For many novice drivers, it is very difficult to park in roadside parking spaces. After identifying the side parking spaces, Han DM-i can park at a speed of 65,438+0 km/h, which requires less space. It is more reasonable than vertical parking in route planning, so the parking time is shorter, giving people a faster sense of speed and a higher success rate.

When parking automatically, the 360 panoramic image can clearly show the parking path, and the virtual image is close to the actual image. When approaching the obstacle, there will be a buzzer prompt, and the dynamic icon and distance will also be displayed in the parking image, giving people a safer feeling.

It is worth mentioning that in addition to the common automatic parking in vertical/horizontal parking spaces, BYD Han also supports oblique parking spaces and custom parking. However, in the oblique parking test, Han DM-i can only identify the reverse fishbone parking space, and the left and right parking spaces can be automatically identified without manual intervention, and the parking spaces that need to be parked can be selected independently. The whole parking process is about 40s, and the speed is still relatively fast.

Customized parking has three kinds of parking spaces: vertical, horizontal and oblique. After selection, you can fine-tune the parking angle. The whole operation is completed in the central control panel, with intuitive display and little learning difficulty.

DMS monitoring? Long-distance driving is safer.

In addition, Han DM-i also supports DMS fatigue monitoring function. The DMS camera on the left A-pillar can recognize faces and movements, fatigue driving (yawning), inattention (looking after the car, smoking and talking on the phone), which can be more accurately recognized, and the voice and instrument display double prompts, greatly improving the safety of long-distance driving.

In order to avoid privacy leakage, this DMS camera also has a physical switch, which can shield the camera, and can be completely turned off during daily driving, and then turned on when necessary to protect user privacy.

Bangping branch

We can see that BYD has not slowed down the pace of research and development in the field of intelligent driving assistance while continuously creating brilliance in the new energy vehicle market. Although BYD's development in intelligent driving assistance is a little late compared with the new forces of building cars, BYD Korea has been constantly evolving. Judging from the actual experience of the latest version of DiPilot system carried by DM-i in Korea, it can be said that it has made great progress. Intelligent navigation system not only has more perfect functions, but also has strong practicability in daily driving. It is not an exaggeration to call it BYD's "strongest" driver assistance system.

Of course, all this progress is inseparable from BYD's efforts in smart driving in the past two years. In 20021year, BYD successively established strategic cooperative relations with intelligent hardware suppliers such as Horizon and Sagitar Juchuang, and also established a joint venture with Momenta, a supplier of autonomous driving solutions. In March this year, BYD reached a cooperation with NVIDIA, a supplier of self-driving chips, and plans to adopt DRIVE Hyperion, NVIDIA's latest self-driving platform, on some models in 2023, so as to achieve a high level of self-driving capability.

BYD's layout in the field of intelligent driving has been gradually improved, and the pace towards intelligent driving is as firm as ever. I believe that in the near future, we will be able to drive BYD cars with advanced intelligent driving assistance functions, so stay tuned.
