In July 1933, the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Union decided that August 1st would be the founding anniversary of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army (the predecessor of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army). Since then, August 1 has become the Army Day of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. During the Army Day, all parts of China will focus on carrying out activities to "support the army and give priority to their families, support the government and love the people" to commemorate the birth of the People's Army.
