From the original "raised in a boudoir unknown to people" to today's national-level scenic spot, what is the story behind its development? In the early 1990s, tourism began to flourish in our country. In October 1992, Zheng Yumin, then secretary of the Pujiang County Party Committee, saw the development prospects of the tourism industry. He believed that Xianhua Mountain, with its strange peaks, cliffs, rock pillars, stalagmites, and cloud wonders, had great development potential, so he proposed to develop Xianhua Mountain. idea. Huang Linsheng, then deputy director of the Urban Construction and Environmental Protection Bureau, recalled: “At that time, the Xianhua Mountain Scenic Area Construction Office was established and a group of people were organized to develop it. The tasks at that time were the east-west tourist trails, the demolition of the Xianhua Mountain Natural Village, the construction of Zhaoling Square and Zhaoling Square. Linggong and the first phase of the Panshan Highway project."

In February 1993, the overall plan of the Xianhua Mountain Scenic Area passed the provincial review. According to the plan, the construction of the first phase of the project will cost 5 million yuan. Faced with a huge funding gap, the county party committee and government set up a fundraising committee for the Xianhua Mountain Scenic Area at that time to mobilize people from all walks of life to donate money and materials. This move received strong support from people inside and outside the county and even overseas Chinese, from children to the elderly. From ordinary people to celebrities, everyone donated generously. “I remember that during the planning review of the Xianhua Mountain Scenic Area, experts were usually charged with review fees. After listening to Secretary Zheng Yumin’s speech, the experts were very moved and donated all their review fees to Xianhua Mountain Scenic Area. Development of scenic spots," Huang Linsheng said excitedly.

At that time, the roadbed of the winding highway leading to Xianhua Mountain was not solid and the road surface was narrow. Therefore, the construction of the winding highway was the first step in the development of the scenic spot. It was midsummer, and we were faced with the problem of water shortage. The construction process could be said to be full of difficulties. Zhang Chengwei, a 23-year-old construction worker at the time, participated in the entire development and construction of Xianhua Mountain. Recalling that time of struggle, Zhang Chengwei is still full of emotion, "There is a shortage of water on Xianhua Mountain. There is only water from a pond, and the people need to use it. All our construction water is transported up from below by tractors, and the water for mixing concrete, The water for maintenance is transported up by the truckload. Now, more than 20 years later, the quality of the cement road is still very good. Every time we go to Xianhua Mountain, we recall working there day and night, and we feel that It was too hard.”

After the winding road bed was laid, the construction of Zhaoling Palace and the East-West Line Touring Trail began in full swing in May 1993. At that time, the location where Xianhua Village was located was planned to be built as Zhaoling Square, which involved the issue of house demolition. Huang Linsheng said, "The demolition was not that easy at that time. There were 37 households with 137 people. They had been there for generations, and they were demolished to both sides. The older people were a little confused, but later the demolition was completed as scheduled. The most touching thing is that , when these farmers moved to both sides, there would be no transitional housing. It was not as easy as renting a house after demolition in our urban area. At that time, the people had no money in their pockets, so they built some work sheds to celebrate the New Year there.
