There are many factors that cause vulvar inflammation, such as friction, scratching, parasitism of foreign bodies and parasites, especially water immersion. Especially for small long cats, the structure of the outer vagina is very narrow and the coat is very long. After bathing or being rained, if water enters the vagina, it is not easy to be discharged, which leads to the development and reproduction of microorganisms in a humid and warm environment and causes external inflammation.

If you treat yourself, it is suggested to block the outer vagina with absorbent cotton balls first, then cut off the surrounding hair and rinse the outer vagina with normal saline, 0. 1% Fuyanjie or 3% hydrogen peroxide. When washing, the cat's limbs can be tilted to the affected side, which is convenient for the washing liquid to flow out, and then the cotton ball stuffed in the vagina is taken out, and then the liquid in the vagina is sucked dry with a dry cotton ball. Examine the deep part of the external vagina with a magnifying glass, take out deep foreign bodies, dirt or tissue fragments with ear forceps, and finally smear the external vagina with boric acid glycerin (1: 20) or tannic acid glycerin (1: 20) 2-3 times a day. For purulent vulvitis, after cleaning according to the above method, apply antibiotic ointment in vagina. In severe cases, rinse your mouth 1~2 times a day, and then apply ointment. Cats with obvious symptoms can be treated with antibiotics (amoxicillin or xifuning). The dose is half that of children!
