According to Article 111 of the Criminal Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), whoever steals, spies, buys or illegally provides state secrets for overseas countries by any means, or steals, spies, buys or illegally provides state secrets or information for overseas institutions, organizations and personnel, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than five years but not more than ten years; If the circumstances are especially serious, they shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than 10 years or life imprisonment; If the circumstances are relatively minor, they shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than five years, criminal detention, control or deprivation of political rights, so it is illegal to divulge secrets.

The crime of intentionally revealing state secrets refers to a serious act of state functionaries or non-state functionaries in violation of the law on guarding state secrets, deliberately making people who should not know know state secrets, or deliberately making state secrets beyond the limited contact scope.
