How to see through the 95599 scam?
Police: Don't call the customer service hotline provided by SMS.
After the reporter hung up the phone on the grounds that he would contact again when he came back, he dialed 1 10 for consultation. 1 10 after the police inquired, they told reporters that the Agricultural Bank of China did not have a customer service number of 400627 1525. This phone number belongs to a phone scam designed by fraudsters. On 1 10, the police advised not to trust such information, and not to call the customer service center hotline provided by SMS or click on the link. If you encounter something similar, you must check with the bank in time or call 1 10 to call the police.
Bank's suggestion: sending a short message with charge deduction will display the last 4 digits of the card number.
Subsequently, the reporter called the 95599 ABC customer service hotline to report the situation to the bank staff.
The customer service staff of the Agricultural Bank of China said that such fraudulent short messages are usually sent by scammers using illegal pseudo base stations, and at the same time, the number display is changed to 95599 by using network rebranding software, which increases deception.
The staff suggested that 95599 is indeed the customer service number of ABC, but ABC will not directly use 95599 when sending text messages to users. Under normal circumstances, the Agricultural Bank of China sends a short message to users, and the last four digits of the card number will appear in the short message, but the card number does not appear in the short message received by reporters and colleagues, and the format of "Agricultural Bank" in the short message is not standardized. The official statement should be China Agricultural Bank or Jinan Agricultural Bank.
