How to send and receive SMS on iPad and Mac through SMS forwarding?

Since iOS 7, Apple has provided a text forwarding service, which can push short messages received through the cellular network of iPhone to other Apple devices.

Using the same network, the forwarding service also allows you to send messages from iPad or Mac to other phone numbers, even if they don't support Apple's iMessages platform (for example, mute and Android devices).

For whatever reason, the iPhone may not be able to enable SMS forwarding, so if you often miss the standard SMS received through your mobile phone when interacting with something on your Mac or iPad, it is definitely worth enabling.

How to activate SMS forwarding in iOS 1 1

1. Start the settings application on the iPhone.

2. Click on the message.

3. Click Send and Receive.

4. Click "Use your Apple ID for iMessage".

5. Click Login to use your Apple ID for iMessage, or click Select another Apple ID and enter the login credentials for the account you want to use.

6. Activating 6.iMessage, please wait. Click OK in any dialog box to confirm that your Apple ID is now used for iMessage on other devices.

7. Click Back to Settings-> Message, and then click the new SMS forwarding option in the menu.

8. Use the toggle button next to the devices in the list to include or exclude them from the SMS forwarding service. Please note that only devices that are logged into the same iCloud account and connected to the same Wi-Fi network will appear in the list.

9. The security password may appear on your enabled device-please make sure to type the password in the iPhone to activate the service.
