What is international roaming of mobile phones?

International roaming means that users can also enjoy a series of services provided by telecom operators abroad, such as phone calls, short messages, multimedia messages, mobile Internet access and so on.

Matters needing attention

1. When roaming networks have different frequency requirements for mobile phone terminals, such as GSM1900/CDMA1900/WCDMA, users need to replace the corresponding mobile phones supporting GSM1900/CDMA1900/WCDMA. For example, at present, China Telecom provides users with CDMA international roaming (CtoC roaming for short) and GSM (including WCDMA) international roaming (CtoG roaming for short) according to different roaming network standards. If China Telecom mobile users want to use CtoG to roam, they need to apply for Tianyi International Card first, and put the UIM card with dual-mode function into G-network mobile phone or dual-mode mobile phone, then they can use G-network to roam the services provided by GSM networks in countries and regions.

3. International roaming can only be carried out between countries and regions with compatible network standards and signed bilateral roaming agreements. For China Telecom's local network, it is mainly divided into international roaming of China telecom users and international roaming of overseas users.

5. Because China telecom network can't cover Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, users can only use the local operator network when going to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. At present, China Telecom has opened bilateral roaming service with operators in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, so China Telecom users can still use their own China Telecom mobile phone numbers in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and the roaming method is the same as international roaming.

Processing mode

1. Log in to the mobile online business hall, and go to Home > Business Handling > Data Service > International, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Roaming Data Stream Daily Package Handling.

2. Call 10086 for manual service.

3. SMS business hall processing: opening: KTGJGPRS 1 transfer10086; Cancel: qxgjgrps 1 turn 10086.

4. Business hall handling: Bring valid certificates to the mobile business hall for handling.

Note: International roaming function must be enabled before international, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan roaming data stream day packages can be enabled.

China Unicom will further reduce the international roaming data traffic charges from June 20 17/day, and launch two data traffic packages for different regions, covering more than 1 30 countries and regions. Users can start in 5 yuan without ordering food, upgrade automatically, and spend 25 yuan or 55 yuan data traffic fee every day, with unlimited traffic. Users roaming abroad can also achieve traffic security.

According to China Unicom, there are three ways to reduce international roaming charges. One is to optimize the automatic upgrade package, and the other is to introduce the automatic overlay package of 100MB roaming data, covering 147 countries and regions. Finally, the tariff is directly lowered, covering international roaming voice services in 85 countries and regions and international roaming data services in 25 countries and regions.
