Like ICQ, QQ, etc., the main function of MSN Messenger is to chat online. You can click the inverted triangle to the left of the login name or "My Status" in the MSN Messenger icon menu on the taskbar to change it. After determining the conversation partner, a conversation window will pop up (Figure 10). You only need to fill in the chat content into the dialog box at the bottom of the window, and then click the "Send" button or press Enter to display the chat content in the conversation window between the other party and yourself.

If the other contact actively chats with the user, an information window (picture below) will pop up above the MSN Messenger icon on the taskbar, and the system will automatically generate a chat dialog box for both parties to chat.

Then click on the invitee's MSN Messenger username or nickname in the contact list of the pop-up window to make the invitee join the current conversation. The dialogue enables three parties or even multiple parties to chat online, which feels a bit like an online chat room. If you want to invite a friend who hasn't been added to your list yet, just press "Others" (picture below) and enter the email address of the MSN Messenger user you want to invite to the conversation in the pop-up window. . Be aware that a maximum of five people (including you) are allowed per conversation.

When you inadvertently enter a smiley face symbol ":)", a yellow smiley face icon will appear in the chat dialog box; or when your boyfriend is chatting with you and becomes more and more affectionate, he will give you a message in the chat dialog box. Send a cute little rose...it really gives a cool feeling!
