Tesla urgently recalled hundreds of thousands of cars. What happened?

According to the data of American Highway Safety Administration, these screens will be invalid in the next five to six years, which is far from enough to meet the requirements of key functions of automobile safety. However, Tesla refused to recall, saying that they would solve this problem by pushing firmware updates.

On February 2, the US Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a document clearly stating that Tesla would recall these defective cars and replace the computer processor on its screen. However, Tesla still doesn't think these problems are security flaws, and the recall decision is only made to close the case as soon as possible and bring a perfect experience to its users.

Tesla said that they don't know what caused the crash or other accidents, but the black screen of the reversing screen, the failure of defrosting control and the turn signal did increase the risk of collision. The company also admitted that the car's computer processor will have a program cleaning cycle every 3000 times.

Tesla also said that they pushed the firmware update to 88% of vehicle maintenance last month, and users will receive an alarm one to six months before the screen fails. For cars with old firmware, he suggested that the driver should use his shoulders when reversing. If the defrosting control on the car screen fails, he advises the driver to clean the windshield manually. The company said in the document that it will inform the owner to replace the processor after March 30.
