How to protect privacy by revealing personal information?

The Personal Information Protection Law has entered the legislative process. Zhou Hanhua, the person in charge of the Personal Information Protection Law (Expert Proposal Draft), a researcher and doctoral supervisor of China Academy of Social Sciences, made suggestions on how to protect citizens' rights if personal information is leaked after the promulgation of the law. Zhou Hanhua said: There are three solutions: one is to seek protection and compensation through civil means and go to court; Second, through administrative means, we suggest that the government establish a special protection agency, which will implement this law and impose administrative sanctions on those who disclose personal information; Third, through criminal means, those who violate the personal information protection law and the criminal law shall be investigated for corresponding criminal responsibility. Zhou Hanhua also made some suggestions on how citizens can effectively protect personal information: The best protector of personal information is himself. In the information society, people must exchange information, and we should keep the consciousness of self-protection in communication. In addition, technically, we should also take necessary protection measures for personal information on the network, such as password protection and installing special anti-theft software. Secondly, we must have a sense of legal rights protection. People who infringe on personal information are often just greedy for small profits and cause small losses to individuals. It is common for the parties not to pursue them. At the same time, some people don't realize the importance of their information and think it doesn't matter to call you. But if the information dealer tells others your home address, bank deposit and short message content, you won't care. Therefore, citizens should have the courage to take up legal weapons to safeguard their legitimate rights, and at the same time safeguard their rights for all.
