During the visa processing, Korean visa applicants can check the visa processing progress on the Republic of Korea visa portal. Or follow the way provided by the Korean Visa Service Center below. There are generally three ways to inquire about Korean visas:

1, embassy telephone enquiry.

2. Mail inquiry.

3. Online inquiry.

Note: among the above three methods, telephone and email are not applicable due to the work of the embassy. The embassy staff can't reply to you in time, and the waiting time is long. Therefore, we generally recommend that applicants check online. The specific process is as follows:

Step 1: Login

To log in to the Republic of Korea Visa Portal, first click on the language "Chinese".

Step 2: Inquiry/Issue

Click "Inquiry Progress" in "Inquiry/Issuance" in the left column.

After entering the visa inquiry page, you need to select the corresponding Korean visa application type, and then enter all information such as application number, passport number or acceptance number, simple acceptance number, English name, date of birth and so on. Ask about the progress of your Korean visa.

Embassies and consulates abroad: Korean embassies and consulates in China apply for visas by themselves, or through visa agencies (designated travel agencies). Generally speaking, it refers to the Korean visas we often apply for: Korean tourist visas, Korean business visas, etc.

Electronic visa (personal): I apply for a visa online.

E-visa (group): Get a visa through online application of the group.

Visa issuance confirmation: apply for visa issuance confirmation through the visa portal, get approval, and get a visa quickly. Generally speaking, teachers (E- 1), conversation guidance (E-2), research (E-3), technical guidance (E-4), specialized occupations (E-5), specific activities (E-7) visas and accompanying visas (F-3) applied by their accompanying families, and specific activities (e-3).

Step 5: Enter the application number, passport number or acceptance number.

The application number can only be obtained through online application, visa center application or visa issuance confirmation, and the acceptance number can only be obtained through visa issuance confirmation. Therefore, for the types of embassies and consulates abroad, only the passport number can be entered. Passport number is an eight-digit number starting with letters such as G, P, S and D in the upper right corner of passport page.

Step 6: Fill in the English name and choose the date of birth.

The English name and date of birth should be based on the information in the passport. In addition, when entering English names, don't use spaces between words. For example: Zhang San.

What will the Korean embassy ask when calling the applicant?

Under normal circumstances, the embassy will not summon the applicant for investigation unless he has questions about the applicant's materials or the purpose of going abroad. In this case, he will call the applicant to investigate. Of course, some embassy staff will also check some applicants to understand the situation.

They will mainly ask the applicant about the purpose of going abroad, family situation, work situation, income, travel plans and so on. Applicants can answer truthfully according to their own purpose of going abroad and their own situation, so don't be nervous.

Of course, if the applicant answers the question when he receives the phone call from the embassy, the embassy may refuse the visa because he will doubt the applicant's purpose of going abroad.

Some of them were called by the visa officer because they were suspicious after reading the materials provided by the applicant. If the applicant is hesitant, incoherent or too official, the visa officer will be suspicious.

If the applicant receives a call from the embassy, he should first calm down, then listen carefully to the visa officer's questions and answer his questions normally. Don't be nervous, don't worry, answer the questions normally and dispel his doubts.
