According to the person in charge of Didi Chuxing, senior citizens aged 60 and above can register and conduct real-name authentication for the first time with the assistance of their children, community workers, and other relatives and friends. For the elderly who do not have smartphones, they can call Didi’s taxi hotline for the elderly and the platform will call a taxi on their behalf. After the ride is successfully requested, the platform will send a text message to the ride-caller, prompting the vehicle information and estimated arrival time, and contact the ride-caller by phone.

Like Didi Chuxing, Meituan Taxi has also comprehensively upgraded its travel services for the elderly and launched a series of taxi-hailing products for the elderly before, during and after the trip.

Before the trip, the elderly can scan the QR code or click on Meituan’s WeChat applet to enter the taxi-hailing page for the elderly. This page has been upgraded and optimized to highlight key information, enlarge fonts, and increase font and background color differences to reduce reading difficulties. At the same time, the "intelligent voice assistant" function has been launched, and every step of the taxi operation has real voice prompts to help the elderly successfully complete every step.
