How will the police be punished for checking other people's privacy?
1. Is it a crime for police to inquire about personal information?
It is generally not a crime for public security police to inquire about citizens' personal information according to law. According to the regulations, public security police can't inquire about citizens' personal identity information at will. But in fact, the police can basically inquire about the citizenship information at will, because the inquiry records of the public security population information online will not be recorded, and there is no need to go through the instructions of superiors. So, the police can check it if they want. The available information includes identity and household registration information, family member information, etc.
If there is evidence to prove that the public security police have caused damage by leaking citizens' information at will, the public security police who leaked information shall bear legal responsibility.
Second, the specific behavior of the crime of infringing citizens' personal information
1, selling or providing citizens' personal information to others in violation of relevant state regulations, and the circumstances are serious;
2, in violation of the relevant provisions of the state, the citizen's personal information obtained in the course of performing their duties or providing services, sold or provided to others;
3. Stealing or otherwise illegally obtaining citizens' personal information.
According to the criminal law, the crime of infringing citizens' personal information has two statutory punishment ranges: fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years or criminal detention, and a fine or a single fine; Fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than seven years and a fine.
Third, how to protect personal information?
1. Handle personal information on your express parcel. Express delivery is the "big family" of personal information disclosure. We know that the express parcel will contain your name, mobile phone number, address and other personal information, so the majority of pickpockets should not be afraid of trouble before throwing away the parcel and destroying all this information. It is also a good habit to blacken these sensitive information with a black charcoal pen every time.
2. Don't store ID photos in your mobile phone. Once your mobile phone is lost and you happen to have a photo of your ID card, it is easy for others to change your Alipay payment password. You should know the consequences. Anyway, I won't put my ID photo in my mobile phone, not only for fear that my mobile phone will be lost and Alipay stolen, but also because it is too ugly.
3. Don't click on some links of unknown origin. You can often see such similar news. So-and-so receives a text message, or Taobao customer service asks for a refund, or receives credit card points, or any child's report card, and then throws you a link asking you to fill in your personal information. However, most of these links have Trojans. Once the mobile phone is "poisoned", it will steal your personal information and the money in the bank card will be transferred away in minutes.
