Dongfeng Travel Platform quickly established a community fleet, providing 1,000 support vehicles, including 700 online ride-hailing vehicles and 300 taxis, to undertake 280 community services in Hanyang, Qiaokou and Jiang'an districts, which is equivalent to Wuhan Nearly a quarter of the city’s communities provide targeted solutions to residents’ living problems.

When others talked about the epidemic and fled Wuhan, when others put their cars in storage and stayed at home, Dongfeng Travel took orders in the face of danger, stuck to their posts, and drove back and forth through the core epidemic areas. , solving people’s travel problems one by one, one trip at a time.

They gave the hope of life to the people, left the risk of death to themselves, and composed a heroic and generous song with practical actions.

Accepted the order at the critical moment and implemented it quickly

At 8:30 am on the 23rd, we received a notice from the Wuhan Passenger Transport Office and went to the city for a meeting. The meeting lasted until 10 o'clock and mainly discussed how to ensure urban transportation in Wuhan after the city is closed. It was finally determined to ensure the operation of 2,000 vehicles, mainly composed of Didi Chuxing, T3 Travel, Dongfeng Changxing, Shouyue Car Rental and Caocao Special Car, among which Shouyue Car Rental and Caocao Special Car are combined into one company. At that time, each company was required to ensure the operation of 500 vehicles.

Previously, Dongfeng Travel had established an epidemic response team. I served as the team leader and was responsible for overall coordination and response to various emergencies. It is divided into five groups, including operations dispatching group, material procurement group, supply guarantee group, vehicle shipping group and publicity and reporting group.

The emergency response team held two consecutive meetings to launch emergency plans for its online car-hailing, taxi and time-sharing leasing businesses. For users and close contacts who have been diagnosed with new coronavirus pneumonia, passengers can cancel free of charge for reservations in Wuhan, including reservations for three stations and one round trip to Wuhan, and the cancellation fees will be borne by the Dongfeng Travel Platform.

In order to protect drivers, we distribute 84 disinfectant and other disinfection equipment to platform vehicles in Wuhan area. We provide disinfection equipment at Wuhan New Energy Car Rental Service Company (Sanlipo Road, Hanyang District) and Dongfeng Travel Maintenance Center (Building 8, People’s Auto Parts City, Caidian District) Disinfection points are set up and disinfected every day. At the same time, plans are formulated for Xiangyang and Shiyan areas.

This government meeting was a turning point. If before the 23rd, we were mainly responsible for how to protect deployed employees, how to protect drivers, and how to protect vehicles, then starting from the 23rd, it changed to how to assist the Wuhan Municipal Government in responding to public emergency affairs, mainly to ensure transportation issues. .

After receiving the mission, we divided into two groups. One line came back to do an inventory, and all fleet managers called each responsible area to see which drivers were still in Wuhan and which drivers could go to work in the city. Due to the lockdown, many surrounding online ride-hailing companies have left the city, so we spent a lot of energy on communication and coordination. By the evening of the 23rd, 486 drivers had been hired, which was the highest implementation rate among several online ride-hailing companies.

The other line is to do a good job in protection and find ways to purchase protective clothing, masks and gloves. The management of online ride-hailing drivers is loose and they did not dress uniformly before. Through various methods, we found a medical company in Xiantao and purchased 10,000 sets of disposable medical protective clothing.

I finally contacted Xiantao, and it was already six or seven o'clock in the afternoon on the 23rd. When I drove to Xiantao to pick up the goods, the problem arose. It is forbidden to leave the city. I may not feel it at ordinary times. During this period, I felt particularly deeply. It is really difficult to move even within a city.

The intersection from Caidian to Xiaosi was not allowed to pass at all costs. (The traffic police) said that the city required that no one car or one person be allowed to pass.

We turned around and came back to the group to issue a certificate, and then went again with the letter of introduction, but it still didn’t work. We had no choice but to coordinate with the Wuhan Municipal Government through the group office. The police station said that they only recognized the instructions from the Caidian Public Security Bureau. We then found the Caidian Public Security Bureau and were told, I really don’t have the power to let you go. You can ask them to send the supplies over and hand them over at the exit.

It was already 9 pm on the 23rd, and the workers in Xiantao were also on holiday. At 10 o'clock in the evening, when we were discussing internally what to do, we suddenly remembered that the paint shop of Shenlong Automobile Company has protective clothing. Its functions are similar to those used in medicine, and it should be used as a substitute.

So, we contacted Shenlong Automobile Company overnight, and the other party said that they had 800 pieces in stock and could donate all of them. Tang Teng, chairman of Dongfeng Changxing (also the deputy general manager of the strategic planning department of Dongfeng Motor Group), has contacted Dongfeng Passenger Cars, Dongfeng Honda, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles and Dongfeng Renault. These four companies have confirmed that they can provide 400 sets of protective clothing and 400 sets of protective clothing respectively. sets, 50 sets and 20 sets.

02.

From protecting medical personnel to serving 280 communities

We received protective clothing at 10 a.m. on the 24th and gathered all drivers in the afternoon to distribute supplies. . This is another quite cumbersome thing. There are more than 1,000 taxis and online ride-hailing services, including more than 300 taxis. We have a small manpower, so we first arrange to distribute protective clothing, masks and 84 disinfectant to taxi drivers. Then find a place to distribute them to online ride-hailing drivers, and the distribution will be completed near the evening.

At this time, the troops were divided into two lines. The operation dispatch team and material procurement team here had just finished distributing the goods, and the vehicle support team over there called to ask for help. 486 people were registered on the 23rd, but something went wrong on the 24th. Many people lived in Caidian or Huangpi, and roads were closed in the suburbs. Only 10 urban areas can be entered, and entry outside the urban areas is not possible. This involves 88 drivers being unable to arrive.

As a local company, of course we must go all out in Wuhan. The leaders of Dongfeng Motor Group are very supportive. Chairman Zhu Yanfeng did not return to his hometown in Changchun. He called and said that if you have any questions, please contact the company's office. If you can't, just contact him directly. He also said that we must implement government instructions to the letter and do everything we can. Even if there are some expenses that the government cannot pay now, the group can still pay them.

To what extent does the group attach importance to it? General Manager Li Shaozhu (General Manager of Dongfeng Motor Group), Secretary Cheng Daoran (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Dongfeng Motor Group), General Manager Qiao Yang (Chief Accountant of Dongfeng Motor Group), etc. often call to inquire about the situation and coordinate to solve problems. There are also some private enterprises that provide strong support. For example, the boss of Wuhan Te Laidian (Wuhan Te Laidian New Energy Co., Ltd.) is from Hubei. He was deeply moved by seeing us working these days. He immediately applied to the head office and confirmed that from the 24th to the 30th, he would use the Dongfeng Travel APP to travel in Wuhan. , Shiyan Te Laidian operates its own charging station for charging, free of service fees. We are participating in the guarantee of two pure electric vehicles, Fengshen E70 and Liuqi S50.

On New Year’s Eve, the government called us to a meeting again, just after the Spring Festival Gala started, around 8 p.m. This meeting lasted until 1 a.m. on the first day of the Lunar New Year and ended at 1 a.m. The main purpose was to re-implement the situation of ensuring the transportation of vehicles.

These vehicles were originally used to transport medical personnel. However, on the 25th, the Wuhan New Pneumonia Prevention and Control Headquarters issued Notice No. 9. Starting from 0:00 on the 26th, except for licensed transport vehicles, free Except for transportation vehicles and official vehicles, motor vehicles are prohibited from driving in the central urban area. If citizens do have traffic needs, they will be implemented in accordance with the headquarters’ Notice No. 8, and each community will be equipped with sufficient vehicles to meet their needs.

According to Announcement No. 8, in order to solve the problems of inconvenient travel for citizens at home, Wuhan City urgently recruited thousands of taxis and distributed them to the central city to provide targeted emergency services to citizens. Specifically for Dongfeng travel, Wuhan City asked us to secure 1,000 vehicles (700 online ride-hailing vehicles and 300 taxis).

There are 1,159 communities in Wuhan City, which are allocated to several of our major travel companies. Dongfeng Travel has contracted 280 communities, accounting for about a quarter of the total number of communities, mainly concentrated in three districts: Jiang'an District, Qiaokou District and Hanyang District. Among them, community services in Jiang'an District are provided by 229 taxis from Dongfeng Travel.

In this way, we have begun to mobilize more Wuhan drivers to work.

Starting from the 24th, community support fleets have been stationed in various communities. Therefore, the vehicle fleet is ensured to be unified by the community committee to provide door-to-door food delivery, medicine delivery, and meal delivery services to residents who are inconvenient to live in the community.

I received a lot of feedback in the next two days. What problems were discovered? There are many old communities in Wuhan. The elderly are usually at home, and the children come back once or twice a week to take the elderly to the hospital. Suddenly, the children can't come back, the elderly can't go out, and there's no public transportation. Some elderly people can't even use WeChat and Alipay and can't order takeout.

The pressure on the community committee has increased dramatically. On the one hand, patients with fever need to go out, on the other hand, there are elderly people who need to see a doctor. Take dialysis as an example. It is done twice a week for 4 hours each time. In addition, many hospitals have been requisitioned, so sometimes you have to go to several hospitals to get it done. There are also some elderly people who have to go to the bank to withdraw money before going to buy groceries. These all require help. Can you arrange a vehicle? How to arrange it? We clearly feel that there are simply not enough vehicles in the community.

A vanguard team of 50 employees invited to fight in the community

In order to ensure that a quarter of the communities in Wuhan are served, the Dongfeng Changxing Party General Office on the morning of the 26th The branch held a meeting to discuss and decided to establish a Dongfeng Travel employee vanguard team to serve as community service volunteers. In fact, I was very stressed during this process, because no one could ensure that these employees were fine, but on the other hand, I believed that Dongfeng Travel should rush to the front in the face of the epidemic.

At 11 a.m. on the 26th, we issued a call for volunteers in the name of the Dongfeng Changxing Party Branch, mainly targeting employees in Wuhan, calling on everyone to join the community support fleet. Dongfeng Travel has many branches in other places. Only 171 people stayed in Wuhan during the Spring Festival, and more than 80 people signed up.

We did some screening, and in principle, comrades over 50 years old were not allowed to participate, and finally we gathered 50 volunteers. We gathered at 3 pm on the 26th to pick up the car, because the parking lot was in Caidian, and we had to go out of town and coordinate, but this time things were much easier to handle.

At 8 a.m. on the 27th, 50 volunteers signed the petition, pressed their red fingerprints, and set off in DFGO vehicles with the unified logo of "Prevent and control the epidemic, facilitate the people, and serve the community". To the communities contracted to serve.

This time, Dongfeng Travel has a fleet of 987 people, less than 1,000 people. Among them, 464 are in Hanyang, 224 in Qiaokou, and 229 in Jiangan, ensuring that every community has Dongfeng travel vehicles.

There were many touching things during this period. Wu Min, a young man born in the 1980s, sent a WeChat message to the work group one day and wrote, "Mr. Gao, I'm so sorry today. I didn't do anything serious."

Wu Min was assigned to Jianghua Community in Hanyang District. Where is Jianghua Community? I checked on the map and found that it is 30 kilometers away from the headquarters of Dongfeng Motor Group and about 60 to 70 kilometers away from Wuhan City. It is basically close to Hanchuan City.

Jianghua Community is a peninsula in the center of the Yangtze River. It is divided into areas AB. The two areas are 15 kilometers apart. One side is a prison, and the people inside cannot get out. Anti-epidemic materials were only sent to one of the communities. Most of the residents in the community were elderly, had difficulty traveling, and lacked medicines.

After Wu Min passed away, he not only bought vegetables and medicine, but also took on the transportation and distribution of epidemic prevention materials. He jokingly called himself the "delivery boy." One day, an old man was going to Hankou to buy anti-cancer medicine. Hearing that the epidemic in Hankou was serious, he decided not to go for the time being. We asked Wu Min to report the name of the medicine and help us buy it before delivering it.

In this way, Wu Min stayed in the community, but he was not idle either, helping to disinfect the community and repair the range hood. The director of the community committee was so moved that he cooked for him. This shows that the community has completely regarded the drivers of Dongfeng Travel as family members.

Drivers in Wuhan city have a lot of work these days. As mentioned above, some elderly people need dialysis, and some have to leave at 4:30 in the morning. One of the drivers traveled more than 40 kilometers and changed two or three hospitals, which took almost seven or eight hours.

04.

The driver’s most worrying protection

The fight against COVID-19 is a battle, and there are no bystanders in this battle.

We have a "Red Flag Fleet" responsible for transporting supplies. After Wuhan was locked down, supplies could not come in. The days from the 24th to the 27th were the most difficult. The Hongqi team consists of 6 people and 5 vehicles. From the afternoon of the 24th to the morning of the 25th, the phone calls to the Hongqi Racing Team continued.

How much do we guarantee? On the 24th, 70,000 masks were received, and on the 25th, another 50,000 masks were received and sent to 14 hospitals, equivalent to 120,000 masks.

In addition, as the designated material transport vehicle for the West District of Wuhan Union Hospital, we delivered 4,820 boxes of instant noodles, 4,300 boxes of mineral water, 1,000 sets of protective clothing and more than 4,000 masks to nursing homes. This is all done outside of normal work.

What makes me proud is that from the 24th to now, 280 communities have been basically covered. Every day, we conduct telephone interviews with the directors of each community committee to ask how satisfied we are with our services, what areas need improvement, and what difficulties we need help with.

Generally speaking, the communities are very satisfied with us.

In this process, the (Dongfeng Travel) employee vanguard team played a leading role. Our online car-hailing, taxi and time-sharing leasing businesses saw the vanguard team rushing to the front line and mobilized their enthusiasm. Whether it is an online ride-hailing service or a taxi, including the employee vanguard, our protective equipment is the best and every vehicle is properly equipped. This makes everyone deeply feel that Dongfeng Travel truly embodies "care for everyone".

We treat all drivers equally. Later, a driver sent me a separate WeChat message, regretting not being able to join this battle. I said, as long as you participate in this work, you are a hero.

To be honest, from the 21st to now, I basically haven’t had a good night’s sleep. I have been present at every important event. This is the first time we have experienced the epidemic test, and so far we have passed the test.

What I am most worried about is the protection of all drivers, and I pray that nothing goes wrong. Every morning, they have to have their temperature taken when they go out, and their working hours are from 8:30 in the morning to 6:00 in the evening. If something happens after 6 o'clock, you can call the dispatch desk to coordinate. If there is an emergency in the community, we will send people directly from the nearby area.

I am under great pressure because more than 1,000 people in the company travel through the core epidemic areas every day. Despite taking a lot of precautions, some drivers are definitely still panicking. I wrote on WeChat: "We can only keep emphasizing and exhorting, and keep doing a good job in protection. God bless them, they will not be infected."

At 8:50 pm on the 28th, I collected Report on arrival: A Dongfeng Travel volunteer sent a stroke patient to the hospital, who was later diagnosed with COVID-19. The driver did not go home that night, and his employer arranged for him to go to the hospital for examination. The driver is still in isolation and is fortunately asymptomatic.
