IMessage is an instant messaging software launched by Apple, which allows users of Apple devices to send text, pictures, videos, voice and other information free of charge, as well as make voice and video calls. IMessage uses Apple's servers, so it can only be used between Apple devices.

How to turn off iMessage?

There are two ways to turn off iMessage:

Turn off iMessage on iPhone or iPad:

Open the "Settings" application and click the "Information" option;

Swipe the screen to find the iMessage option and close it.

Turn off iMessage on a Mac computer:

Open the Messages application;

Click the "Message" option on the menu bar and select "Preferences";

Click the Account tab, find the iMessage option and close it.

What happens when iMessage closes?

After turning off iMessage, you will not be able to use iMessage to send messages to other Apple device users, but you can still use SMS or other instant messaging software to send messages. If you close iMessage, but still want to send messages to other users of Apple devices, you can reopen iMessage.
