Unforgettable composing days
May 12 is a day that the people of China will never forget. On that day, I was as busy with the same thing as before, without any different feelings, and I didn't know what was happening outside. Since I became the department head, I have little time to watch the news. I remember that night, it was the day when our unit went to study in the evening as usual. Before studying, I suddenly heard a comrade say "Sichuan earthquake". I didn't care at first. I know that our motherland is a disaster-ridden country, and all kinds of disasters happen from time to time. Later, more comrades discussed the earthquake. I got a clear message that the earthquake is very strong and there may be more casualties. After studying at night, I quickly turned on the computer and browsed the news of authoritative websites. Gradually, I felt suffocated, and I knew the terrible fact. In the following days, paying attention to "Wenchuan Earthquake" became my daily necessity. Since then, I have been thinking about how to contribute to the disaster area.
Finally, the opportunity came. A few days after the earthquake, personnel rescue has come to an end, and ensuring that there is no major epidemic after the disaster has become the top priority of earthquake relief work. I know this is a difficult task, and this is my specialty. May 19 is a day of silence for the dead compatriots throughout the country. Before the silence, I got the news that the health and epidemic prevention personnel of Zhejiang CDC went to Sichuan. I did not hesitate to apply to the director of the center immediately to join the team of health and epidemic prevention in Slow Sichuan, and got it. On that day, we organized a 50-person health and epidemic prevention team within 1 hour, which was divided into five groups according to work needs, and I was responsible for the first batch of 9 players.
Next, preparing materials for all the players has become the most important thing I am responsible for. Because I don't know much about Sichuan, I don't know anything about the epidemic situation of local infectious diseases and earthquake disasters, life and work in disaster areas, so I have to consult a lot of literature to prepare for the whole team from food, clothing, housing and transportation, medical care to specific epidemic prevention work.
On the morning of May 2 1, at the mobilization meeting, I made a detailed division of labor for nine players, who was responsible for logistics, who was responsible for information, who was responsible for infectious disease monitoring, and so on. In the afternoon, I officially embarked on a journey to the disaster area. At that time, I became a hero. I am extremely excited to enjoy the flowers and applause of the masses.
On the morning of 22nd 10: 50, we arrived at Chengdu Shuangliu Airport on time. What caught my eye was the relief workers from all over the country. They wore different clothes, but they all clearly expressed the same meaning: earthquake relief. Soon, we contacted the volunteers sent by the local health department. He said that Qingchuan County, where we were originally arranged to go, was changed to Xiaojin County. Xiaojin county is not the hardest hit county in the local area, so we immediately asked the headquarters in unison again and insisted on going to Qingchuan county, where the disaster was more serious. Maybe the volunteers were moved by us, maybe the headquarters was moved by us, and our request was approved.
Qing Chuan impression
The journey was thrilling and bumpy. After five or six hours from Chengdu, we finally arrived in Qingchuan County. Our bus drove into the Qingchuan County Earthquake Relief Headquarters, which is located in the compound of Qingchuan Middle School. Although I saw many resettlement sites along the way, I still attracted everyone's attention. The original large school compound was crowded with tents, materials and vehicles, and passers-by could only walk through narrow aisles. Disaster relief workers from all over the world report here, starting from here. At that time, it was very lively there. Eye-catching signs can be seen on cars, tents, walls and rescuers. I realized that we really reached the disaster area. You can easily tell from the clothes and voices of people around you that they come from all directions, and they have the same mission as us. The team members lost no time in talking with them, hoping to learn more about what we will fight for.
The team leader hurried to report to the epidemic prevention team at headquarters and accepted the task. Soon, Lishui, Quzhou, Jinhua three towns, each team is responsible for one. The place we are going to is called Huangping Township.
After 8: 30, a comrade in the headquarters asked everyone if they had dinner, and then we felt very hungry. Finally, several elder sisters at the headquarters prepared dinner for us, and we can eat it, that is, white rice porridge with pickles and half a bowl. More people and less porridge, knowing that everyone will definitely not have enough to eat. An elder sister told us that there were eight bags of instant noodles left, and all of them would be cooked for us later. Looking back now, that meal was delicious! Later, we learned that those big sisters were also volunteers from other places. Maybe I will never know their names, but I will never forget them.
There is no place to sleep, so I have to spend the night in the car tonight. And we don't have the headquarters compound, so the car can only be parked on the side of the road. Late at night, Qingchuan County was horribly silent. Seen from a distance, the street lamps on the road are neatly lit. Besides, everything around is dark. It's early morning after finishing the work at hand. The floor of the bus aisle has been occupied by sleeping athletes. I carefully crossed the bag and people, found a seat, and fell asleep immediately, regardless of mosquito bites.
The next day, nine members of our Lishui team arrived in Huangping Township at noon. This is a sparsely populated village in northern Qingchuan. We took the initiative to contact the local health center, and the dean called Dang Tianbao. However, when we know him better, we prefer to call him "the cannon of the day" in private. He is always smiling, in his early fifties, and he is very nice. The party chairman has a tattered car, but he can still drive it. The way he drives is fantastic. He prepared lunch for us, which is said to be a rare delicacy. What was served was broad bean rice, a big bowl for each person, and nothing to eat. To tell the truth, rice is dry and hard, and it's really not delicious. But I still swallowed a big bowl, not a grain left.
After dinner, the bus will go back after completing the task, and we will unload the materials together, which is all the belongings we have to live and work here. Different from the past, no one here has assigned us a specific task, and there is only one goal, that is, there can be no outbreak of infectious diseases in Huangping Township during our stay. We decide what to do and how to do it Time is the command. I immediately sorted out my thoughts, designed a simple scheme, and set out to conduct a rapid assessment of public health to provide a basis for future work.
It is getting late. On that day, putting up tents was another important task for us. No one has experience, let's explore together. Borrowing shovels, shoveling soil, leveling the ground, nailing piles and pulling ropes, soon, four beautiful tents appeared in front of us. Finally, we have a family. Finally, we hung the national flag high, and the blue flag of "Zhejiang Lishui Health and Epidemic Prevention Team" fluttered in the wind.
Aftershock, magnitude 6.4.
When I first went there, I heard that Qingchuan had the most aftershocks. Sure enough, I really felt it. Work during the day, sleep at night, and there will be aftershocks at any time. There are many small aftershocks, and the data monitored by the earthquake department seems to be hundreds of times a day. Big aftershocks, 20 times a day.
The feeling of big aftershocks is also different. From the sound point of view, some seem to be shooting, and the sound is very loud; Some sound like muffled thunder, and some sound like the end of the world. It sounds horrible, I can't describe it. Some aftershocks shake up and down, and when you sleep, you will feel something pushing people up. Some swing from side to side, or you can feel this way in the cradle of accelerating frequency.
It was extremely hot in Qingchuan at noon, and all the candles we brought were out of shape in the tent. There is no safe place around to avoid the sun. So the noon there is very difficult.
There is a family next to our tent. His house was cast-in-place with cement and was preserved in the 5. 12 earthquake. This has become a shelter for everyone at noon. When the earthquake came, everyone ran desperately to the ground. Someone joked that we all run faster than Liu Xiang.
After a long time, everyone was a little paralyzed by the small aftershock.
We visited more places and got to know a little about the local geology. Lishui is located in the mountainous area of southwest Zhejiang, but it is completely different from Qingchuan. The vegetation in that place is also very good, but the soil is loose and there are many thin and brittle rocks, which is the hardest hit area of geological disasters. I've seen that stone is very thin-many people there use the stone from the mountain directly as tiles. According to local people, mudslides and landslides occur every year. For example, a large-scale flash flood broke out in Qingchuan in 2007, killing many people. After this year's earthquake, the whole mountain seems to be loose and dangerous, and even the old farmers who live in the depths of the mountain all the year round are afraid. Now I can clearly see the huge cracks in the mountain in the photos I have taken. Some cracks are as wide as one or two meters. When we walk on it, we will hold our breath and walk softly and quickly, for fear that if we accidentally step on it, people will slide into the abyss with the mountain.
The administrative system of Qingchuan is very different from ours. The administrative village there is called cooperative, which means cooperative. A cooperative can be a natural village or include multiple natural villages. Some societies have relatively concentrated populations, while others have very scattered populations. In a society, it may take several hours to walk from one house to another, which is called "withering" in the local dialect.
One afternoon, we are going to work in Tangjiahe Community in Jiefang Village. On the way, we found that the mountains on both sides were steep. Tangjiahe Society is located in the narrow zone on both sides of the highway. I remember it was cloudy, and the mountain wind would make people shudder. At about four or five in the afternoon, I received a phone call from my wife. I asked this and that over and over again on the phone and told me to pay attention to safety. Without saying a few words, I suddenly had a strange feeling. I don't know how to describe it. The simple description is that the earth shakes! The earth shook violently, and the soil on the mountain was mixed with stones and quickly poured down the mountain. The crumbling house can no longer withstand the collapse of a strong earthquake, and people can't stand still. A 30-year-old boy in my group is holding a nearby stump and trying to keep his body balanced. Everyone around us panicked and fled to a slightly safer place. I also blurted out "earthquake, earthquake ..." and ran in horror. Dozens of seconds after the earthquake, we can still see the dust rising in the air. The people around me were still in shock, and I vaguely heard an old woman sigh helplessly, "How can we live?" .
As soon as I made up my mind, I quickly yanked my lover's phone and couldn't get through! I tried again, but I still couldn't get through. I ran along the road, hoping that there would be a little signal at some corner, and then I sent her a message to tell her that I was safe. Helpless, I was disappointed after trying dozens of times. I can't guess how she felt at that time. I can only guess that she is worried about me.
It was later told that this was the largest aftershock after the 5. 12 earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.4.
Ping Huang is a vast country with a sparse population, and the people live in extremely scattered mountainous areas. The population of about 5,800 people is distributed in about 40 cooperatives, and the population of each cooperative is also very scattered. It takes a whole day to go to some remote cooperatives. However, there are only nine members of our team, and the local health network is not perfect. The whole health network was completely paralyzed after the earthquake. When we started the first phase of the work, we already realized the need to establish such a team to carry out health and epidemic prevention work in towns and villages. At the end of the first stage of work, we reported to the local township party committees and governments. After putting forward the next work plan, I put forward the idea of establishing a grass-roots non-professional health and epidemic prevention team, which received strong support from the township leaders and was willing to spend part of the disaster relief funds for this team to carry out its work. Everyone said they would do it, and it is tentatively scheduled to conduct intensive training the next day. The location is in the temporary office of the township government. The main task of training is naturally done by me. Unfortunately, it rained heavily in the countryside of Huangping that night, and almost all the players couldn't sleep that night. Our tent leaked in the middle of the night.
I remember when we were working in Qingchuan, the transportation of the whole materials was still difficult, and our supplies could not be fully guaranteed. The tent we use has poor rain and wind resistance. The player's bedding is actually put in the soil. When it doesn't rain, they can only feel the humidity. When it rains, it's terrible. What a "miserable" situation. At midnight, our quilts and mattresses were almost soaked. Everyone had to fight the flood together: dig deep into the drainage ditch and carry away the accumulated water at the top of the canopy. In this way, the whole night is almost over.
Get down to business. It was still rainy on May 28th. It's dangerous to take the mountain road when it rains. It is reasonable that our non-professional team will not come out. But we immediately made two preparations. First, in order to ensure the safety of the masses, we called the township leaders early in the morning and asked them to inform the training to be rescheduled. Second, Director Ye Maohua and I went to the temporary office of the town government as planned. If someone comes, we will train as usual.
In this way, we arrived at the township government on time. The rain didn't stop for a while. The township leaders have been urging us to come back early, but we can't come. We insisted on waiting. If they come and we're not here, that's not good.
After waiting and waiting, the result was beyond our expectation, and many candidates from non-professional teams followed. We asked you why you came down at such a dangerous time. They said, "You can take a risk and give us a lesson. No matter how dangerous it is, we should come." .
What a nice crowd! I firmly believed at that time that there was no problem in the post-disaster health and epidemic prevention work in Huangping Township. I'm going to give you a lesson. Where should I find a good place? I saw a spacious clearing next to it, so I called them over.
In the lecture hall on rainy days in the open air, I also give you serious lectures in an orderly way. They are holding umbrellas, some are standing, some are squatting, and that seriousness makes my lecture full of passion. What moved me even more was that during my lecture, a villager offered to hold up an umbrella for me, and I was already wearing a raincoat.
Love is boundless, I am 93 people.
When I went to Qingchuan, I didn't know when I would return. When we arrived, no one was there. However, people often receive condolence messages from organizations or relatives and friends, and they are all in high spirits, just like doping. Remember "six". Around the "First Day", I received a short message from Lishui Municipal Committee of Jiu San Society (later I heard that many messages were sent, but I only received one), saying that all members were concerned about me and told me to pay attention to safety and take care of myself. Maybe people in that state are particularly impressionable. I quickly returned a message with tears in my eyes, "Thank you for the concern of the organization and all its members and ensure the completion of the tasks assigned by the organization. "Our Jiu San Society is a participating party composed of middle and senior intellectuals, and it is our advantage to give full play to our technical expertise. And I also take pains to remember this and always think about the professional and technical problems of the team. Health and epidemic prevention is a highly professional job, and outsiders often only know superficial work such as disinfection. As soon as I arrived in Huangping Township, I immediately designed a rapid assessment plan for public health and produced a rapid assessment report on the same day. Experts from the provincial CDC said that this was the best evaluation report of the provincial epidemic prevention team at that time. Before I left, I took the lead in evaluating the effect of health and epidemic prevention intervention, which other teams did not have. Qingchuan Night is a time for players to keep diaries and write their feelings, while I write professional materials in the name of the whole epidemic prevention team. Later, I made a rough statistic. I * * wrote 1' s rapid evaluation report, three-stage report, 1' s technical scheme, 1' s effect evaluation report and 1' s work report, and * * * counted more than 30,000 words. Our work in Ping Huang was highly praised by the leaders of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Provincial Health Department, and the provincial media also called our work "Ping Huang Model".
Around June 5, we learned that we were about to "change posts" and the day of leaving Qingchuan was near. My heart is getting heavier and heavier. Maybe everyone who fights in that environment will feel this way. I saw with my own eyes the four drivers we sent away the other day, wiping their tears as they walked. The children living in the disaster area next to our camp also lost their smiling faces. When we held the "June 1" party for them, they were not happy at all.
June 8 is the day when we officially leave. We tidy up tents, pack things, count materials, and lower flags silently ... We hope to come quietly and return quietly without disturbing the local people.
I wonder how the victims nearby got the news. When we lined up to hand over the work with Jinhua Health and Epidemic Prevention Team, dozens of nearby victims gathered together and leaned over to us. There are elderly people with crutches, women with children in their arms, and primary school students who stop classes at home. I can clearly see that the old man and the young man are holding crumpled yellow cloth banners they made temporarily. On the one hand, they wrote "the earthquake is merciless, on the other hand, they wrote" the love of health rescue is boundless " This has become the most precious gift we have received.
We set off and walked reluctantly to the bus along the path we walked every day. Another scene shocked me. The officers and men of a company of jinan military area command Tiger and Lion stationed next to us lined up neatly on one side of the path, wearing belts and clapping together to see us off. In the words of these lovely soldiers, "we are closer than our comrades."
On the way, I received two short messages from a colleague of Guangyuan CDC and a soldier of Tiger and Lion Army. The text message is as follows:
"Day when the bed, when the bed. I am proud of the years; Count the stars and look at the moon, even if there are aftershocks; Sigh life, pour out vicissitudes of life, and take pleasure in the suffering in dreams; Apricots are red, wheat seedlings are yellow, and there is Duanyang in the shed ... "
"Dear brother, our contact time is very short. But formed a deep feeling. I wish my brother a pleasant journey and good luck in his future work. Get together with your family at an early date and give my regards to your family. Welcome brother to visit Anyang army. Please don't forget that the Central Plains also has a bosom brother. Unit 52, Anyang, Henan Province.
