Because, at 2 am on July 18, Yao Moumou, who lives in a residential area of Jiangchuan Road in Minhang, was only 38 years old and declared dead after being bitten by a pet dog.

According to many sources, Yao Moumou, who suffered the tragedy, is 38 years old, registered in this city, and lives in Jiangchuan Road Street, Minhang District.

In April this year, Yao has been recuperating at home because of a car accident.

At about 2 pm on May 6, while resting on the lounge chair in front of my house, the back of my left hand was bitten by a seemingly normal pet dog in the community, with slight bite and no bleeding. After biting, the dog escaped and his whereabouts were unknown.

On the same day, Yao cleaned and disinfected the wound himself, and no other treatment was done afterwards. He was not vaccinated against rabies before his illness.

Results: After more than two months, he died.

It is reported that on the evening of July 12, Yao Moumou, who had not been vaccinated against rabies before, began to have symptoms such as high mood, difficulty swallowing, fear of wind, fear of light, fear of water, irritability, chest tightness, tendency to hurt people, and poor appetite. I feel ants walking in my left hand. I didn't have a fever, didn't sleep or eat or drink that day.

On the morning of July 14, Yao Moumou went to the spring injury clinic on Xindong Road in Minhang District to get a rabies vaccine. On the afternoon of the same day, I went to the outpatient department of the Fifth People's Hospital of the city for infusion treatment without any other treatment.

At 5 pm on July 14, Yao's family called 120 to call an ambulance and sent it to Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center for treatment. Physical examination after admission showed that the patient was unconscious, with no abnormality in cardiopulmonary auscultation, soft abdomen and no tenderness. After admission, he was given symptomatic support treatment.

On the evening of July 17, Yao developed symptoms such as decreased blood pressure and oxygen saturation. The hospital informed his family that he was in critical condition, and the patient's family expressed their understanding and gave up all rescue measures.

At 2 am on July 18, Yao's vital signs disappeared and he was declared dead.

Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center reported the rabies case on China Disease Control Information System on July 8 14: 24.

At present, Minhang emergency operation involves the comprehensive culling of stray dogs and cats in the community.

According to the Emergency Regulations on Public Health Emergencies, this incident constitutes a public health emergency.

Therefore, on July 19, Minhang District Major Animal Disease Prevention and Control Headquarters Office urgently notified the major animal disease prevention and control departments in the following towns, demanding to fully understand the seriousness and urgency of this incident and formulate emergency measures to ensure that the incident is under control.

Due to the whereabouts of dogs, with Jiangchuan Street as the core, Wujing, Yongqiao, Maqiao and other towns have launched emergency plans and actively cooperated with district dog management offices, police stations, agricultural committees and other departments to carry out their work. In particular, the Major Animal Disease Prevention and Control Section of Jiangchuan Street, where Yao Moumou is located, is conducting a comprehensive culling of stray dogs, stray cats and unlicensed dogs in the involved communities to ensure that no secondary injuries or similar incidents occur.

In addition, the Agriculture Committee of Minhang District has organized three mobile teams, focusing on the comprehensive blood test of dogs in the incident community, and monitoring the flow of dogs in Minhang District, and requiring major animal disease prevention and control departments in towns (industrial zones) to establish a weekly report system, and submit the work progress to the District Animal Disease Control Center and the Agricultural Management Department of the District Agriculture Committee before work every Friday (tentatively until the end of August).

2. What should I do after being bitten by a dog?

For wounds with less bleeding, squeeze bleeding from the proximal end to the wound to facilitate detoxification.

2. After being bitten by a sick dog. The wound should be cleaned immediately.

The key is the method of washing. Because most wounds are closed like valves, they must be opened for irrigation. It hurts a little to wash the wound with tap water, but it should be washed carefully to prevent infection. After washing, cover the wound with clean gauze and go to the hospital for treatment. If there is no water around for a while, you can use human urine instead of water to wash it first. Then try to find water. Wash the wound thoroughly. The wound bitten by a dog is often small in the outside and deep in the inside, which requires that the wound be enlarged as much as possible, the surrounding soft tissue be squeezed hard, and the saliva of the dog and the blood on the wound be washed away as much as possible. After washing, wipe the wound several times with 70% alcohol or 50 -70% liquor. In the absence of anesthesia, the pain is obvious when rubbing, and the wounded should be psychologically prepared.

3. If the wound bleeds too much, try to put a tourniquet on it immediately.

Then send it to the hospital for emergency treatment. Remember: don't bandage the wound! Wash the wound thoroughly immediately. It is the key to determine the success or failure of rescue. Don't forget to wash the wound, or wash it carelessly, or even apply some mercuric chloride to bandage the wound and send it to the hospital. This is absolutely wrong.

4. Inject rabies vaccine and tetanus antitoxin.

After being bitten by a mad dog, even the smallest wound. There is also the possibility of rabies infection. At the same time, it can be infected with tetanus, and the wound is easy to fester. Patients should seek a doctor for rabies vaccine and tetanus antitoxin vaccine, and those with severe bites should be injected with anti-rabies virus serum.
