Why should the United States support Ukraine in fighting Russia?

In order to support Ukraine's attack on Russia, the United States aims to contain Russia and completely split Europe, and will never allow Europe to reunite and compete with the United States for hegemony. The United States now envisages prolonging this war to create an irreversible gap in the relationship between the EU and Russia and further split Russia.
