Is part-time online shopping with QR code payment a scam?
On September 21, the Jiangsu Provincial Anti-Communications Network Fraud Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Provincial Anti-Fraud Center") pointed out that when paying for fake orders, scammers use QR codes to pay, thus bypassing Alipay. . Recently, such cases have occurred frequently. The police remind citizens that part-time online shopping scammers using QR code payment are scams and should not be credulous.
At around 2:30 pm on September 7 this year, Ms. Zhou, a Wuxi citizen, received a text message from an unknown number. The other party said that Ms. Zhou had good online shopping credit, and invited her to do a sales evaluation and give her a red envelope. Ms. Zhou immediately added the QQ person in the text message as a friend, but the other party did not mention the sales evaluation, but asked Ms. Zhou if she had a part-time job.
After making some inquiries, Ms. Zhou learned that the part-time job the other party mentioned was very simple, which was to make orders for Taobao stores and get 10% commission for each order. She could make money just by sitting at home. Ms. Zhou was very excited and immediately expressed her willingness to do it. Soon, the other party sent the work process and application form. After Ms. Zhou filled in her personal information, she began to follow the process.
Click the shopping link sent by the other party, and Ms. Zhou will place the order first. However, according to the work process, Ms. Zhou did not pay through Alipay, but scanned the QR code sent by the other party to pay. After completing an order, Ms. Zhou asked for the return of the principal and commission, but the other party said that the money could not be returned until a certain task quota was achieved. So, Ms. Zhou continued to place the order according to the other party's request. After reaching the task quota mentioned by the other party, the other party also claimed that the link had timed out, the data was frozen and needed to be re-activated, etc., and asked Ms. Zhou to pay again.
In this way, Ms. Zhou paid nearly 30,000 yuan in order to get her money back, and finally found that she had been blocked by the other party. And because the payment was not through Alipay, the goods ordered in the Taobao store were not purchased successfully, so he lost everything.
I hope everyone can be more vigilant in their daily lives.
