Wechat and QQ are a family, both developed by Tencent.

QQ is an Internet-based instant messaging network tool independently developed by Ma Yu/KLOC-0, the founder of Tencent, in February, 1999.

Wechat is a free application launched by Tencent on 201110, which provides instant messaging service for intelligent terminals. It was created by the product team of Tencent Guangzhou R&D Center led by Zhang Xiaolong. Zhang Xiaolong is the founder of WeChat and senior vice president of Tencent.

Introduction to the main basic functions of WeChat:

1. Chat: It supports sending voice messages, videos, pictures (including emoticons) and texts, and is a chat software supporting group chat).

2. Real-time intercom function: users can talk to a group of people through a voice chat room, but unlike the voice sent by the group, the messages in this chat room are almost real-time and will not leave any records.
