Internet fraud in 2020

Since 2020, public security organs throughout the country have continuously cracked down on telecommunication network fraud, focusing on special actions such as "Yun Jian -2020", "Breaking Cards" and "Great Wall II", cracking 256,000 telecommunication network fraud cases, arresting 263,000 criminal suspects, intercepting 654.38 billion fraudulent telephone calls and 870 million fraudulent text messages, thus directly avoiding economic losses for the masses.

At present, with the rapid development of China's economy and society, new crimes such as telecommunication network fraud continue to occur frequently, which has become the most prominent crime with the fastest rise and the strongest response from the masses. The Ministry of Public Security attaches great importance to this, deploying public security organs across the country to focus on cracking down on high-incidence cases, fully eradicating fraudulent dens, severely rectifying the black and gray industry, and comprehensively strengthening early warning and prevention. In view of the frequent occurrence of four types of cases, such as loan fraud, swipe fraud, impersonating customer service fraud and pig killing fraud, local public security organs quickly attacked, successfully destroyed a large number of fraud dens and arrested a large number of criminal suspects. The proportion of credit card fraud cases decreased from 25.3% at the beginning of the year to 13.8%, and high-incidence cases such as loan fraud, impersonation of customer service fraud and pig killing fraud were obviously curbed. At the same time, since the outbreak of COVID-19 epidemic, we have cracked 6,543.8+0.6 million cases and arrested more than 7,500 suspects, which has effectively served the overall situation of epidemic prevention and control in China.
