According to the Notice on Printing and Distributing the Provisions of the Supreme People's Procuratorate on Protecting Citizens' Reporting Rights,

Article 4 Those who violate the confidentiality provisions of Article 3 above shall be dealt with severely according to the circumstances and consequences, and those who constitute a crime shall be investigated for criminal responsibility according to law.

Article 5 No unit or individual may, under any pretext, stop, suppress, make things difficult or take revenge on citizens' reports.

Article 6 Anyone who infringes upon the lawful rights and interests of informants, their relatives and imaginary informants by various excuses and means shall be punished as retaliation.

Seventh cases of retaliation against informants should be seriously accepted. If it is really retaliation after investigation, it will be dealt with according to the seriousness and different nature:

1. If a state functionary abuses his power, jobbery and retaliates against an informer, which constitutes a crime, he shall file a case for investigation according to law and investigate the criminal responsibility of the responsible person.

2. Take various forms of retaliation against informants, which does not constitute a crime, and shall put forward procuratorial suggestions to the competent department at the next higher level of the unit where they belong and deal with them seriously.
