According to China's "Military Service Law of People's Republic of China (PRC)", a soldier who is determined to serve in the reserve after retiring from active service shall register in the military service organ of the local government within 30 days after returning to his hometown and become a first-class reserve soldier. If local reserve forces or militia emergency organizations have been established, they will be directly incorporated into the relevant forces and become first-class reserve soldiers.
