Guilin prison is located in the eastern suburb of Guilin, with the best scenery. Established in 1952. Its predecessor was Hengtang Farm, Ocean Prison, Hengtang Auto Parts Factory and the Third Prison of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. 1995 was officially renamed as "Guilin Prison", which has been in use ever since.
