A temple can only be called a master if it becomes a Buddha, but it can't be called a master without becoming a Buddha. Sakyamuni Buddha is known as the "Lord of the Three Realms". Those who are proficient in the Confucian classics of Sanzang can only be called the master of Sanzang, not the master.
