Go through the borrowing procedures to borrow books 1. Readers can borrow 5-30 books with their campus card and library card , the general borrowing period of books is one month, and can be renewed three times (see the "Borrowing Quantity Table" for details); if there are special regulations announced by each borrowing office or reading room, the regulations of each department or room will be followed.

2. If all available copies of a certain book have been borrowed, readers can directly apply for a book reservation online.

3. If the book borrowed by the reader has expired and still needs to be used, and the book has no reservations from other readers and the right to borrow the book has not been suspended due to other reasons, the reader can borrow the book online by himself/herself renew.

4. If you have any questions when borrowing books, you can go to the information desks and borrowing and returning desks for help.

5. Expired, lost, damaged, etc. books shall be subject to the "Peking University Library Regulations for Readers Borrowing Overdue, Lost and Damaged Books and Periodicals". Reading in the library 1. Borrowing books from non-Peking University Library readers Non-Peking University Library readers who need to use Peking University Library books for scientific research projects or other purposes will be accommodated in accordance with the "Peking University Off-Campus Readers Reception Measures". Special books and periodicals can only be borrowed for reading in the library and are not allowed to be taken out of the library. Parts of special books and periodicals can be copied in the library without special regulations and must be returned on the same day. If the regulations are violated, a fine of 10 yuan per day will be imposed and suspension will be suspended depending on the severity of the case. 1. Special reading room book borrowing

Peking University Library has a preserved reading room, a thesis reading room, a teaching reference book reading room, a new book reading room, and a local chronicle reading room. 2. Newspaper and periodical borrowing

The Peking University Library has a periodical reading area, a newspaper and literary periodical reading room, a back issues reading room, and a Hong Kong and Taiwan newspapers and periodicals reading room. There are two ways to borrow newspapers and periodicals: separate shelf reading and closed shelf borrowing. All newspapers and periodicals are only available for indoor reading.

3. Reference book borrowing

Peking University Library reference books are distributed in the reference book reading room and common reference book shelves in each reading room. All reference books are only available for indoor reading.

4. Rare ancient books, old Chinese newspapers and periodicals published before October 1949, tablet rubbings, etc. are generally only available for indoor reading by teachers and graduate students in relevant majors of Peking University.
