The difference between geophysical exploration and drilling

The difference between the two exploration methods lies in principle, scope of application and cost.

1. The principle is different: Geophysical exploration is an exploration method to infer underground geological conditions by studying the changes of underground physical fields. Drilling is an exploration method to directly obtain underground geological information by drilling holes in the ground.

2. Different scope of application: Geophysical prospecting is mainly used in areas with shallow exploration depth and relatively simple geological conditions, such as shallow mineral exploration and groundwater exploration. Drilling is suitable for areas with deep exploration depth and complex geological conditions, such as deep mineral exploration and geological structure exploration.

3. Different costs: Geophysical exploration costs are relatively low, and a lot of drilling work is not needed, only some physical detectors need to be arranged on the surface. The cost of drilling is relatively high, which requires a lot of drilling work and consumes a lot of manpower, material resources and financial resources.
