The Waldorf kindergarten where Alai attends attaches great importance to the morning circle story time. Every week, different stories are told to the children according to the rhythm of the four seasons.

In one parent-teacher meeting, the teacher specially asked parents to sit in a circle and experience the scene of "children telling stories in the morning circle". It was a parent-teacher conference in autumn, and the teacher told the parents the autumn stories that had been told to the children that week.

The story is very beautiful and touching, and it makes me, a mother, feel moved after listening to it. I think it is a blessing for both adults and children to hear such a beautiful story. So, I translated the story into Chinese and recorded it in my own words. Parents, if you are interested, you can tell it to your children.

Story: Little Star in the Apple

The stars are twinkling in the sky, each star is together with other stars, accompanying each other . During the day, the stars will fall asleep, and at night, the stars will twinkle in the sky and watch over the sleeping children on the earth.

One morning, when the sun rose and the other stars crawled back to their beds in the clouds to sleep, one star could not fall asleep.

It turned over and over again, stretching its toes in the white clouds, and counting the sheep made of white clouds, but it just couldn't sleep. The sun's rays were so warm that the stars couldn't help but peek out from behind the gaps in the clouds. Then, it heard the happy laughter of children.

The children played and ran around happily. The children looked up at the stars in surprise, and there was actually a star that was still shining so brightly at noon!

It was autumn, and the children were picking up apples that fell from the trees on the ground and running against the wind. , chasing the fallen leaves from the trees.

Winter is coming, it is so cold every day, and the earth is covered with a sheet of snow. The children were sledding and making lanterns with their hands. The lanterns were like stars, shining brightly in the dark night.

Spring is here. Spring melts snowdrifts and ice on lakes, and green shoots begin to appear in every corner.

From autumn to spring, the stars could not sleep, but kept watching the children playing on the ground from the gaps in the clouds. "Ah, how great it would be if I could also play with children. Or, I also want to have my own child, the child of Xingxing." Xingxing thought so.

It has been unable to sleep, but it is getting paler and paler.

One morning, Sky Dad happened to pass the Rainbow Bridge, and he asked: Why are the stars so dim at night? The stars told him all the stories about the children on the earth, and also told him about wanting to have star children. desire.

Ah! Sky Daddy thought. "Is this your wish? Well, you will have many, many star children, as many as you want, but you must learn to wait and wait for autumn to come."

The stars are waiting. Spring is here and the apple trees are beginning to bloom. The climate is getting warmer day by day.

Then came summer, and the children swam at the lake all day long.

Gradually, autumn is approaching, but the stars have never seen any "star children" that look like it.

Finally, the autumn that the stars have been waiting for has officially arrived, and the fruits on the trees have begun to ripen.

One day, the children were picking up apples on the ground, and the star looked at them from behind the clouds. It was so pale that it could no longer twinkle. It was almost invisible from the ground. There was such a star in the sky during the day. Bright stars.

"Autumn has come, I should get the star child, but where is the child? Doesn't Father Sky understand what I mean?" Xingxing thought.

On the ground, a little girl picked a big, juicy apple and cut it in half from the middle. Then the girl shouted: "Look! Little stars, there are stars in the apples." Child!"

The star heard it and hurriedly poked its head out from behind the cloud. When it saw the star child in the apple, it was so happy, shining from the heart, shining so brightly Bright, like the sun.

The children cut the apples open one by one, and each of them found the star child.

"Look at the star in the sky!" the children shouted, and everyone looked up to the sky, looking at the star that shone so brightly at noon. "That star must be the mother of all star children!" the children said.

After this day, the stars always sleep a little longer in the summer. When autumn comes, the apples ripen, and the nights get longer, the stars will appear again and twinkle in the night sky.

The stars will watch the meteors fall from the sky to the ground one after another, because the meteors will bring small, star-like children to every apple.

I love this story very much, and I also think this story reflects the natural life and thoughts of the North.

In Finland, a Nordic country, we always have a lot of sunshine and long days every summer. Even in the dark night, the sky is slightly bright, and you really can't see the stars at this time.

Only when the days grow shorter, the nights return, and autumn approaches, do the stars reappear.

Although I feel that summer is leaving and winter is coming again, seeing the stars in the autumn night always makes people admire their shine and beauty again. "The stars are finally back again." I I always think like this, and at the same time comfort myself with the slight melancholy that summer is about to leave again, telling myself that every season has its beauty, and the stars are the gifts brought by autumn. ?

Finland’s autumn is rich in apples, and the stars shine again. In each apple, there are children with stars. What a beautiful imagination and metaphor, and how naturally it connects the children. Life experience and the rhythm of nature.

Even if you are not in Northern Europe, I think you can still get some imagination, some touching, some understanding of the different climate of another country, or some inspiration from this story.

For example, some things just require waiting. Usually, the more beautiful things are, the more impatient they are. Waiting and patience are important qualities in life. Maybe while listening to the story, children will also Internalize it bit by bit into your heart.

The more light radiates from the heart, the brighter it becomes. The tired stars shine like the sun because of the joy from the bottom of the heart. The light in the heart is the most moving.

This is my experience from the story of the Autumn Morning Circle in Waldorf Kindergarten in Finland. If you have any inspiration, please feel free to share it.

Post-note: I will publish a new book in March: ?Nurture can be so natural – Taiwanese mother’s Finnish parenting notes?, which contains more sharing about Waldorf kindergarten experience and parent-teacher conferences , and another story about kindergarten and autumn apples.
