The workers' sanatorium run by the trade union is a collective labor insurance undertaking for workers and an integral part of the national health undertaking. It embodies the concern of the party and the state for workers and the superiority of the socialist system. Its task is to receive workers suffering from chronic diseases and occupational diseases for recuperation, reduce the prevalence rate of workers, restore and enhance their physical health, improve their political consciousness and enthusiasm for production, and serve the construction of a powerful socialist modernization country.

Legal basis:

Article 28 of the Regulations of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions on the Work of Sanatorium is the basis of comprehensive treatment and an important condition for convalescents to recover. Sanatorium must take the management of convalescent life as an important regular work. We should rely on the masses and practice democratic management. Taking the convalescent department (district) as the unit, the convalescent life management Committee (referred to as the treatment Committee) was established. The medical committee is a mass organization for convalescents. Under the leadership of sanatoriums, assist sanatoriums (districts) to carry out political and ideological work, organize publicity and life management, reflect the opinions and demands of sanatoriums, and actively cooperate with treatment. The medical committee shall have a chairman, vice-chairmen and members, who shall be elected from among convalescents and workers. The medical committee is divided into several groups according to nursing homes. It is necessary to maintain the integrity and continuity of the organization of the medical commission.
