Don't knot the cross-stitch thread, you can leave a thread of about 2cm. Cleaning of cross stitch:

After the cross stitch is finished, it will be a little dirty because of time. You can use a neutral detergent and clean it with cold water. Press it gently in the water a few times, and it will be clean without rubbing it gently.

After washing, iron it. When transporting, spread a piece of cloth on the table, with the cross-stitch cloth turned upside down. It would be better if you could iron it with a light cloth. Be careful not to set the temperature too high to avoid ironing clothes.
