The Origin of Yongquan Ancestor God

The originator of Yongquan was a layman named Xue, named Zhang Qi. He became a monk in Xinfeng Garden, Tao Jin, Nan 'an, and later became a Buddha. The fifteenth capital of Nan 'an City, Fujian Province is dedicated to filial piety. Since childhood, they have converted to Buddhism and served in monasteries. His mother is very filial and good at praying for rain. In the fifth year of the Song Dynasty (964), she died in Xinfengyuan (now Louxia Village) at the foot of Baimeng Mountain in the fourteenth capital (now Jin Tao Town). Later, he often appeared to beg for rain in Nan 'an County, and he always gave everything he wanted. The orders of the county magistrate were often played in the imperial court. In the ninth year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1 139), Song Gaozong ordered it to be named "Jiahui Dade Zen Master". Xinfengyuan has been abandoned, but there is still a "Jue Yuan Hall", also known as "Dashan Palace", in the corner of Dashan in village of tianshan, Meishan Township, where the golden body of the ancestor of Yongquan is stored. According to local customs, the fourth day of the first month of each year is the "pilgrimage" day. Villagers need to use big sedan chairs to carry ancestral fountains and other statues to "take the flame" from nearby mountains, and pray for a year of good weather and environmental peace. Every year on the fifteenth day of the first month of the Lantern Festival, you must use another sedan chair to carry the statue of the ancestor of Yongquan to cruise to every corner to pray for peace. If villagers meet happy events (such as marriage and birthday) and set up Taoist altars to "reward gods" and make wishes, they need to "preach" in Jue Yuan Hall to welcome ancestor Yongquan. Yongquan, the founder of Yongquan, gained great fame and has been guarding the land of Tianshan since then.
