The general conclusion is that stainless steel is an energy-saving and emission-reducing product with obvious benefits, which can effectively avoid "global warming and greenhouse effect". The concrete method is to replace ordinary carbon steel, and through the comparison with ordinary carbon steel, the superiority of stainless steel in "energy saving and emission reduction" is demonstrated.
First, in the production process, compared with ordinary carbon steel bars, stainless steel bars have obvious energy saving and emission reduction benefits. Generally speaking, in the process of steel production, the short-flow production process from electric furnace stainless steel to stainless steel hot-rolled coil products is adopted, and the comprehensive energy consumption per ton of steel is 280kg;; The comprehensive energy consumption from the ironmaking system to the hot-rolled coil of ordinary carbon steel with long process tons of steel is 625 kg. The production of stainless steel by short process is more than 55% energy-saving than that of carbon steel by long process. The short-flow production process of stainless steel is adopted, and the carbon dioxide emission per ton of steel is 507kg from the beginning of electric furnace smelting to the end of stainless steel hot-rolled coil products. The CO2 emission of long-flow tons of plain carbon steel from the start of ironmaking system to the end of hot rolling of plain carbon steel is 65,438+860 kg. Compared with carbon steel produced by long process, stainless steel produced by short process can reduce CO2 emission by more than 72%.
Considering that the short-process stainless steel production accounts for about 70% of the total stainless steel production, the long-process carbon steel production accounts for about 90% of the total carbon steel production. Comprehensive calculation shows that the average comprehensive energy consumption per ton of stainless steel is 383.5 kg, and that of carbon steel is 590.5 kg. The social average CO2 emission of stainless steel is 9 12.9 kg, and that of carbon steel is 1724.7 kg. It can be seen that the production of 1t stainless steel hot-rolled coil can save energy by more than 35% and reduce CO2 emission by more than 47% compared with the production of 1t ordinary carbon steel hot-rolled coil.
Second, the advantages of stainless steel are more obvious in the application field. Because stainless steel wire is a fine product in steel, it has the characteristics of stainless, corrosion resistance, beauty, high strength and 100% recyclability. In practical application, it can further show the social benefits of energy saving and emission reduction. For example, the new stainless steel freight car made of stainless steel hot-rolled coil, compared with the original domestic open car made of ordinary carbon steel, reduces the initial steel consumption by 15% and the steel consumption in the whole life cycle by about 55%. According to the steel consumption per ton of coal in the life cycle, it can save more than 75%. In this way, every 1 ton of stainless steel can replace more than 4 tons of carbon steel. Considering the factors of saving steel in the manufacturing and application of stainless steel, stainless steel saves 84.25% energy and reduces CO2 emission by 87. 16% compared with ordinary carbon steel.
In addition, according to the relevant investigation of International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF), the carbon dioxide emission of 1t stainless steel cold-rolled plate produced by TISCO is lower than that of 13% produced by other countries and regions. What is discussed here are only two factors of saving steel in the manufacturing process and application process of stainless steel, and comprehensively consider the problem of saving energy and reducing CO2 of stainless steel compared with ordinary carbon steel. In fact, because the wagons made of stainless steel are much lighter than those made of carbon steel, it can also save a lot of energy consumption of traction power during transportation and further reduce CO2 emissions.
Further consideration is given to the application of stainless steel in nuclear energy, which makes the popularization of nuclear energy possible and further reduces the emission of CO compared with thermal power. The application in water supply and drainage system can further reduce CO2 emission by reducing water pollution and waste. In the application of water treatment, seawater desalination, clean food, energy efficiency improvement and 100% recycling, stainless steel plays a greater role in "energy saving and emission reduction" and avoiding "greenhouse effect".
If we say that the application of stainless steel in many aspects in the past is considered from the aspects of high-grade and beautiful appearance, and it is the demand after the improvement of living standards, rather than an indispensable necessity in people's lives, then from the new perspective of "energy saving and emission reduction" and avoiding "greenhouse effect", stainless steel should become a necessity for the sustainable development of all mankind.

Stainless steel products produced by advanced enterprises in China are more conducive to "energy saving and emission reduction" and avoid "global warming and greenhouse effect" than stainless steel products produced by other countries and regions.
