3 15 is the International Day for Protecting Consumers' Rights and Interests, which is scheduled on March 15 every year, because then-US President John F. Kennedy delivered a special presidential speech on protecting consumers' interests in the US Congress on March 1962, and put forward four famous consumer articles for the first time.

It was first determined by international organization of consumers unions 1983, with the purpose of expanding the publicity of consumer rights protection, attracting worldwide attention, promoting cooperation and exchanges among consumer organizations in various countries and regions, and better protecting consumer rights internationally.

The theme of 20 18 proposed by China Consumers Association is "Quality Consumption, Better Life".

With the rapid development of modern industrial production and the innovation of production technology, consumer goods are increasing day by day and the consumption structure is becoming more and more complicated. Followed by various consumer accidents and problems, resulting in serious violations of consumer rights and interests. In order to deal with this problem, 1898 established the world's first consumer organization in the United States, and 1936 established the National Consumers Union. After World War II, various organizations have emerged in some developed countries that reflect consumers' interests and demands.

On this basis, international organization of consumers unions was proclaimed on 1960. After that, the consumer movement became more active, and many developing countries also set up consumer organizations, making the consumer movement a global social phenomenon. At present, there are more than 300 consumer organizations in more than 90 countries around the world.
