The history of New Steel

On July 16, 1958, the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee approved the establishment of the Party Committee of Xinyu Iron and Steel Company, and the establishment of Xinyu Iron and Steel Company was announced.

1958.11.05 Xinyu Iron and Steel Company broke ground on the 1# and 2# 255m3 blast furnaces.

1959.07.29 The first workers’ congress of Xingang was held.

1960.04 Six factories in Shanghai and Huangpu District Central Hospital were moved to Xingang.

In March 1961, the Xinzhou-Xinzhou Railway Yuanhe Bridge was opened to traffic, and in October the entire Xinzhou-Zhou Railway was opened to traffic.

1962.081# and 2# blast furnaces were successfully converted to ferromanganese smelting.

1962.12.15 Xingang 2#255m3 blast furnace was rated as an advanced blast furnace at the National Metallurgical Key Enterprise Blast Furnace Conference.

In 1963.04, the Ministry of Metallurgy decided to transform Xin Steel into a factory.

1965.04.20 Li Fuchun, former member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier of the State Council, inspected Xingang.

1965.08.14803 The workshop broke ground, marking the beginning of the construction of Jiangxi Steel Plant.

1966.04.23825 The workshop’s 1.5-ton electric furnace trial was successful.

1968.12.091 #58—I-type 42-hole coke oven project breaks ground.

1969.04.01 The Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee decided that the new weekly line would be taken over by Jiangxi Steel. The total length of the new perimeter line is 17.8 kilometers, including 4.5 kilometers of the first and second station lines. 1970.02.21 Xingang decided to build a 2,300 medium plate workshop with an annual output of 100,000-150,000 tons. It was completed and put into operation in October 1978.

1971.01.03 The construction of a 5000-6000 ton carbon products workshop started.

In 1971.09, Chen Yun, former member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and leader of the party and state, inspected Xingang.

1973.09 The 24m2 sintering machine project of Xingang’s second sintering workshop broke ground.

In July 1978, the Yuanhe water pump expansion project was completed, ensuring Jianggang's production and domestic water supply.

In 1979.10 Xingang was identified by Jiangxi Province as one of the first batch of pilot units to expand corporate autonomy.

1980.01.01 Households in Xingang family have access to domestic gas.

In 1980.08, the National Defense Science and Technology Commission sent a letter of thanks, praising Jiangxi Steel Plant for its contribution to the successful launch of my country's intercontinental missile.

On November 15, 1980, the Metallurgical Department of Jiangxi Province decided to place Xinyu Metallurgical Machine Repair Factory under the jurisdiction of Xinsteel.

1981.10.01 New steel carbon ferromanganese was exported to the UK for the first time.

In 1983.05, Xinsteel began to organize the hot-loading of blast furnace hot metal to be transported to Jianggang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. and the steelmaking test was successful.

In 1984, the Jiangxi Provincial Government designated Xingang as the first batch of pilot units for the factory director responsibility system.

1984.05.01600m3 blast furnace broke ground.

1984.05.10 The gas pipeline project from Xingang to Xinyu City broke ground.

1985.04 The top-bottom composite blowing of the 6-ton converter of new steel was successful.

1985.11 The first phase of Xingang’s closed-circuit television project was completed.

In 1985, Xingang blast furnace ferromanganese won the National Silver Award.

1986.02.07 Jianggang Iron and Steel’s 25-ton oxygen top-blown converter was put into operation.

1986.11.15 Xinhua Metal Products Co., Ltd. was formally established.

1987.04.16 Jianggang’s first road scale with a computer-controlled weighing instrument was put into use.

1988.07.15 The domestic water diversion project of Xingang Pingchuan was completed and the water was delivered.

1988.07.19 Xinhua Metal Products Co., Ltd. was completed and put into production.

1988.8.13 Jianggang’s 25-ton high-power electric furnace was put into production.

1990.06.30. The new Steel Workers Stadium covering an area of ??2,000 square meters and able to accommodate 2,000 spectators was completed.

1991.01.06 Jiangxi Steel Plant, Xinyu Steel Plant, and Tiekeng Iron Mine merged to form Jiangxi Xinyu Iron and Steel Plant.

In 1992, Xingang raised funds to build the first batch of 350 houses, kicking off the housing reform. On July 30, Park Village broke ground.

On December 25, 1992, the domestic gas uphill project was completed and put into use.

On December 05, 1993, Xingang achieved an annual steel output of over one million.

1994.09.05 The mid-plate renovation project was completed and put into operation.

1995.01.06 The company’s retired employee activity center was completed.

On February 7, 1995, the Central Hospital was approved by the Provincial Department of Health and promoted to a Class II A hospital, becoming the only corporate employee hospital in Jiangxi Province promoted to a Class II A hospital.

1997.10.08 The Re-Employment Service Center of Xingang Company was unveiled.

On October 28, 1997, the company’s marine steel plates passed the factory approval of China Classification Society (CCS).

On December 28, 1998, the company achieved full continuous casting of converter steel.

On March 29, 1999, the #2 iron-melting furnace of the company’s first steelmaking plant shut down, ending the company’s 28-year history of iron-melting and steelmaking.

1999.09.12 The overhaul project of the company’s 3# ferromanganese blast furnace was completed. After the overhaul, the No. 3 furnace was converted to produce pig iron.

On September 28, 1999, the company’s TV optical cable project was completed.

On May 29, 2000, Xingang Company signed a debt-for-equity swap agreement with Huarong, Cinda and Oriental Asset Management Company in Nanchang, with the debt-for-equity swap amounting to 1.16425 billion yuan. 2000.10 Xingang Company’s Internet website was officially launched.

2001.08.08 Xingang Company held the opening ceremony of two major projects: high-speed line and converter.

On December 18, 2001, the annual hot metal volume of New Steel Company exceeded 1 million tons for the first time.

2001.12.28 A new debt-for-equity swap company, Xinyu Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., was established.

On February 26, 2002, the No. 1 furnace of Xingang Iron and Steel Company’s Ferroalloy Plant began to convert to pig iron production.

2002.06.18 New Steel Company’s 8# blast furnace project broke ground.

On July 19, 2002, Xingang Company held a science and technology conference.

On December 16, 2002, the thermal load test of the entire high-speed wire rod project of New Steel Company was successful.

On June 30, 2003, the testing center of Xingang Company passed the laboratory accreditation of China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment.

On July 18, 2003, New Steel Company held a ceremony for the completion of the high-line blast furnace converter and the foundation laying ceremony for the thick plate project. Governor Huang Zhiquan announced the completion of the "three major projects" of New Steel Company and issued a groundbreaking order for the thick plate project.

On November 25, 2003, Xingang Company held a ceremony to stop smelting blast furnace ferromanganese.

2004.082# Coke oven overhaul project was completed and put into operation. The 5# sintering machine (180m2) project was completed and put into operation. The 7# blast furnace overhaul project was completed and put into operation.

In September 2004, Xingang Company’s daily output of steel, iron and steel billets exceeded 10,000 tons for the first time.

In October 2004, the construction of commercial housing in Qinyuan Village of Xingang Company started.

On November 16, 2004, Xingang Company became the first single enterprise in Jiangxi Province with annual sales revenue exceeding 10 billion yuan.

On April 10, 2005, the 3800mm thick plate project of Xingang Company was completed and put into production.

In June 2005, the New Steel Company employee poverty alleviation fund was established.

2006.04.03 The second channel project of Xinyu Railway was opened to traffic.

2006.08 New Steel Company’s medium-thick plates were used in the 2008 Beijing Olympics Bird’s Nest project.

2006.10 Xingang Company Technology Center was recognized as a nationally recognized enterprise technology center.

In November 2006, Xingang Company started the integration of QEO three systems.

In 2007, Xingang Company started the construction of the "four major bases" to repay local governments and promote local economic development.

In 2007, Xingang Company launched the nursery and sangziyuan living area renovation project.

On February 28, 2007, the commencement ceremony of the new steel 3 million tons thin plate project was held grandly. Governor Wu Xinxiong attended the ceremony and announced the commencement order.

In 2007.07, the company won the national honor of "Enterprise Contributing to the Construction of Olympic Venues".

In September 2007, Xinhua Co., Ltd.’s non-public issuance of A shares was approved by the China Securities Regulatory Commission, and Xinhua Steel Co., Ltd. was listed as a whole.

On October 9, 2007, the company's ship plate output exceeded 1 million tons, and the annual output reached 1.36 million tons, ranking first among its peers in the country.

In 2007, the company's sales revenue reached more than 22.2 billion yuan, and profits and taxes were 2.2 billion yuan. The company's sales revenue has maintained double-digit growth for seven consecutive years.

In March 2008, Xingang Company was placed under the authorization of the provincial government.

2008.06.19 The postdoctoral workstation of Xingang Company was established.

2008.07 Jiangxi Marine Steel Engineering Technology Research Center was established in Xingang.

On August 21, 2008, the company successfully issued convertible bonds to raise 2.76 billion yuan.

In February 2009, the third phase of the technical renovation series I project was completed.
