Speaking of the Red Cross, many students may immediately think of the charity organization "China Red Cross Foundation". On May 12, 20xx, an 8-magnitude earthquake occurred in Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, killing 69,227 people, injuring 374,643 people, and missing 17,923 people. This was the deadliest earthquake since the Tangshan earthquake. However, as the saying goes, "when one side is in trouble, all sides will help." Many countries donated emergency aid funds to the foundation, with a total amount of 1.711 billion yuan, and domestic aid funds reached 59.468 billion yuan, which includes our meager share. Strength, when gathered together, becomes a powerful force.

Now when I hear the word "donation", most of the students have this reaction - "Huh? Donate again!" At this time, the teacher often says to us: "Look at your usual Wear well and eat well. Why haven't you thought about saving some of your pocket money to donate to disaster areas or poor areas? "Yes, when we usually eat, we may complain that today's meal is not to our liking, but I never thought that children in poor areas can hardly even eat better food; when we were comparing the decoration of our homes with each other, we never thought that people in earthquake-stricken areas were homeless. Maybe without experiencing poverty once, we will not understand how shameful our current wasteful behavior is.

When I heard the word "donation", I thought that the donations from my classmates might be in bits and pieces - one yuan, two yuan; as expected, when I donated the next day, I I glanced at the donation form and saw that it was all small change, no more than 30 yuan. I remember that during the Wenchuan earthquake, I donated 10 yuan. "Money is not a big thing, life safety is important. A donation represents a love, and when the love comes together, it becomes a big love." Dad once said this when he knew that I wanted to donate.
