The race will depart from HA’IL on January 2 and arrive in Riyadh on January 7. After a day of rest, we arrived in Jeddah, the finish line of the race, on January 14th.

In the 2022 competition, the road book, categories, safety equipment and other aspects have been adjusted, and the T1-E new energy category has been added. According to the plan, it is expected that by 2030, internal combustion engine-powered racing cars will bid farewell to the stage. In addition, given the popularity of the Dakar Classic category last year, it will be more than doubled this year.

Previously, Audi made it clear that it would participate in the 2022 Dakar Rally. The Audi Dakar racing car refers to the technical principles of Audi's electric car racing and will adopt a three-motor layout. One of them is placed on the front axle, one on the rear axle, and the other motor is used for electrical energy conversion and does not participate in power transmission. At the same time, a four-cylinder TFSI engine will charge the high-voltage battery.
