Testing standards for American textiles

American textile quality inspection standards mainly include AATCC standard (American Association of Textile Dyers and Chemists), ASTM standard (American Association of Testing Materials), CPSC (American Federal Consumer Product Safety Commission) and FTC mandatory standard (American Federal Trade Commission). In addition, the United States has also formulated many technical regulations on textiles and clothing: textile fiber product labeling law, wool product labeling law, fur product labeling law, fair packaging and labeling law, fabric flammability law, children's pajamas flammability law, down product processing law and so on.

2. EU textile testing standards

There is no special standard-setting organization in the EU. CEN (european committee for standardization) mainly implements international standards, coordinates standards of member countries and formulates necessary CEN (European standards), most of which are the same as ISO standards.

Each member state of the European Union has its own laws and standards, which are slightly different from those of the European Union in terms of technical requirements and conditions. As one of the cradles of modern textile industry, the British textile standard system includes a set of BSBN standards in addition to the quite perfect British Standard (CBS). German standard (DTN) is also quite strict and complete, and the current standard for controlling harmful substances comes from DIN standard.

3. Japanese textile testing standards

Japan is very picky about the quality of textiles and clothing. Textile and clothing traders entering Japan have a set of strict product quality standards as the audit basis. There are three main specifications: (1) Japanese industrial standard (JISL), (2) product liability law (P/L) and (3) formulation of product quality standards. And require manufacturers to obtain qualified certification in designated quality inspection institutions.

Japan also has various textile fibers and clothing signs. (1)Q mark (quality) Japanese high-quality product mark. (2)SIF mark (Joint Venture Sewing Product Inspection Association) is the recognition and recommendation mark for excellent products.

In addition, Japan also has strict requirements for the inspection of broken needles, because the Japanese government has promulgated the Law on the Protection of Consumers' Rights and Interests in the form of legislation, which imposes heavy penalties on producers and consumers who detect broken needles on textiles and clothing.
