Indeed, the endurance anxiety of new energy vehicles has always been a pain in consumers' hearts, especially after the temperature drops, the cruising range of pure electric vehicles usually decays faster in cold weather.

In order to solve the mileage anxiety in cold winter, recently, the project "Key Technology Development and Demonstration Application of Pure Electric Vehicles for Winter Olympics Environment" led by Beijing Institute of Technology and participated by BAIC New Energy and BAIC Futian was once again tested in extremely cold environment at yakeshi proving ground of China Automobile Association.

It is understood that the research of this project is mainly to improve the overall performance of pure electric vehicles in low temperature environment, optimize the safety control strategy of the whole vehicle in low temperature environment, improve the energy efficiency of pure electric vehicles in low temperature environment, and completely solve the car bottleneck of pure electric vehicles in cold environment.

At the test site, two passenger cars of BAIC New Energy and four buses of BAIC Futian were tested for battery temperature rise, in order to solve the problem that the power battery could not be charged and discharged normally in extremely cold environment. Six test vehicles were placed in the environment of MINUS 30 degrees for more than 48 hours, and the ultra-low temperature cold start test and ultra-low temperature heat pump air conditioning test were carried out. The test results show that the core temperature of the power battery starts from MINUS 18 degrees, and rises to above zero in a short time at the speed of 7 degrees per minute, and it is successfully started. At the same time, the heat pump air conditioner carried by the test vehicle also runs normally and smoothly.

The whole challenge test process was quite smooth and the challenge was successful. This fully proves the reliability and stability of the ultra-low temperature power battery system developed by BAIC New Energy in the extremely low temperature environment, consolidates the leading position of BAIC in the research and development of pure electric vehicles, and shows the breakthrough and progress of China new energy automobile industry in technology development and research.

This test solved the pain point of mileage anxiety of new energy vehicles in extremely cold environment. On this basis, it is also verified that China New Energy Vehicle is at the world leading level in three core key technologies: all-weather battery, low-temperature enthalpy-increasing air conditioning and all-weather vehicle control, which also lays a solid technical foundation for the subsequent breakthrough in the cold restricted area. It is believed that in the near future, new energy vehicles will be fearless of ultra-low temperature and severe cold, and relieve mileage anxiety under extreme conditions.
