Introduction of scenic spots in Mingyue Mountain Scenic Area

Mingyue Mountain, the core scenic spot, consists of 12 peaks with an altitude of 1000 meters, and the main peak Taiping Mountain is 1735.6 meters above sea level.

Mingyue Mountain Scenic Area is known as "Natural Oxygen Bar", "Natural Botanical Garden" and "geological museum". It has the title of "World Famous Hot Springs Health Hometown" and seven national titles, such as National Scenic Area, National AAAAA Scenic Area, National Forest Park, National Geopark, National Natural Heritage, National Tourism Resort and China Hot Springs Hometown.

The origin of the name Mingyue Mountain:

There are four theories about the origin of the name of Mingyue Mountain: First, the 12 peaks of Mingyue Mountain are arranged in a half-moon shape, hence the name. Second, it is said that there are stones on Mingyue Mountain, and the lights at night are like the moon. According to legend, Xia Yungu, the queen of the second emperor of the Southern Song Dynasty, was a native of Xiajiafang Village under Mingyue Mountain, and was called Empress Gong in history.

Xia Yungu's nickname is Yue Ming, and Yungu has done a lot of good things for Xiangzi. In memory of her, the villagers called this mountain in the southeast of the village Mingyue Mountain. Besides, Mingyue Mountain is the Goddess Chang'e flying to the moon's place. There are flying moon stones, toad stones and other scenic spots on the top of the mountain.
