p>Hony and self-improvement, inheritance and innovation
Notes:
"Hongyi" - the phrase comes from "The Analects of Confucius·Tai Bo": "A scholar cannot be without Hongyi, and the responsibilities are heavy. It’s a long way to go.”
The phrase "self-improvement" comes from "The Book of Changes" "When heaven moves vigorously, a gentleman will constantly strive for self-improvement."
"Hongyi Self-improvement" clearly emphasizes that as students in traditional Chinese medicine schools, they must not only have lofty ambitions and strong will, but also develop self-respect, self-reliance and self-reliance through their own learning and practice.
"Inheritance and innovation" - the words come from General Secretary Hu ***'s speech at the centenary anniversary of Tsinghua University, that is, "to comprehensively improve the quality of higher education, we must vigorously promote cultural inheritance and innovation." This statement fully illustrates the correct attitude towards culture and the sense of mission of the times in order to comprehensively improve the quality of higher education in our country. "Inheritance and innovation" is particularly necessary for traditional Chinese medicine schools. Its specific requirements are to teach, inherit, carry forward, and innovate traditional Chinese medicine culture and related excellent traditional Chinese culture, and to achieve cultural self-confidence through cultural awareness.

Above it is the Chinese "Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine" font, which was proposed for the school by the famous Chinese calligrapher Ouyang Zhongshi.
Below is the English translation of "GUANGXI UNIVERSITY OF CHINESE MEDICINE" from Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Illustration meaning:
The three artistically deformed letters "P" are deformations of "pulse" (English translation "Pulse"). "Pulse" is a basic vital sign. The ancient Chinese medicine uses the magical theory of "what is inside must be what is outside" to create a pulse diagnosis method that is unique in the medical field. It can know the inside from the outside and the subtleties, and can reveal the mystery of life from the subtle differences of the pulse.
The three "P" are like a hand of traditional Chinese medicine that takes the pulse, firmly grasping the pulse of the development of the times, the pulse of the development of traditional Chinese medicine, and the pulse of the development of Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. They are endless and beating. It’s like bright red flags, hunting in the wind and flying high, guiding the direction of Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and calling thousands of Chinese medicine scholars to move forward. School Song
"Hongyi Song" A Corner of the Campus
Author: Tang Nong
TCM is great and has a long history.
We are on the road of exploration. .
The ancient wind warms the chest.
The vast and bright yellow color is as bright as a star.
Today we learn and work hard,
Tomorrow we will continue to write a new chapter with a sincere heart. A corner of campus
Ah! Look, Qingshan prays for us!
Listen, Yongjiang sings for us!
To carry forward the unique knowledge of the Holy Spirit,
To help perfect health,
To respond to the call of the times,
We have a long way to go, Hongyi strives for self-improvement!
There is a long way to go, and we must strive for self-reliance!
Comments on the lyrics:
The lyrics are only about a hundred words long, but there are as many as eight references to the lyrics. It has profound meanings, is popular and clear, and is easy to remember and recite.
The phrase "Great Chinese Medicine" in the poem comes from "The Doctrine of the Mean", "How great is the way of the sage! It develops all things, and is as high as the sky." Medicine is the way of medicine, and it is also the way of the sage, so we take it and make it The overall style of the lyrics is more consistent.
The phrase "we are on the road of seeking" in the poem means "the road is long and long, and I will go up and down to seek".
The word "Qihuang" refers to the "Huangdi" and "Qibo" in the "Huangdi Neijing" in a narrow sense, and broadly refers to the sages of traditional Chinese medicine culture and their scriptures.
The phrase "collect widely and seek diligently" in the word comes from the original preface of "Treatise on Febrile Diseases", which means "seek diligently from ancient precepts and learn widely from all kinds of prescriptions". Here "collect widely" can be understood as the study of traditional Chinese medicine knowledge in addition to In addition to study and research, it also includes the study and research of modern medicine and other knowledge.
The words "to carry on the unique learning of the saints" come from the famous "Hengqu Four Sentences" in the Chinese philosophical and ideological circles, which are what Song Confucian Zhang Zai (also known as Hengqu) said: "To establish a new world for the world, to create a new life for the world." "The people have established a mission to carry forward the unique knowledge of the saints and create peace for all generations." They feel their awe-inspiring righteousness and take it; "the saints" refers to the ancient sages, and this can also echo the previous article "Qi Huang", specifically referring to the ancestors of traditional Chinese medicine culture. Saints; the "extreme knowledge" in the word refers to the mainstream traditional culture that has developed throughout the Chinese civilization since the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties in China. "Continuing the unique education for the saints" means to continue, inherit, revive and carry forward the mainstream tradition of Chinese culture, that is, to work hard Revitalize traditional Chinese culture. This formulation can be found in relevant authoritative academic materials. Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a sister institution, also has this in its "Precepts for Students in Xinglin": "The great road brings blessings to all directions, and it is promoted in Shao and the unique knowledge is prosperous." Therefore, it is known that the word "complete knowledge" is not used alone in traditional Chinese medicine schools. .
The word "to help perfect health" comes from my country's current "Medical Student Oath" which "removes human illness and helps perfect health". Perfect health should refer to both physical and mental health. Perfect state.
The word "in response to the call of the times" means that we must keep pace with the times, pioneer and innovate, and not rest on our laurels.
The lyrics "The road ahead is heavy and the road is long, the road is long and the road is long." clearly expresses the theme of the song. It comes from "The Analects of Confucius·Taibo" "A scholar cannot be without Hongyong, the road is long and the road is long. Benevolence takes it as one's own duty, and no one can do it." It’s also important; it’s not just after death, it’s also far away.” Medicine is a benevolent art, so there is a long way to go. It sings the voice of students in traditional Chinese medicine schools who pursue benevolence as their own responsibility throughout their lives. This also echoes the core socialist values ??advocated nowadays.
