The aim of the Red Cross Society is to protect people's lives and health, carry forward the humanitarian spirit and promote the cause of peace and progress.

Disaster preparedness and relief

The Red Cross Society of China actively carries out natural disaster relief, and besides emergency relief, it also carries out post-disaster reconstruction. Six regional disaster preparedness centers have been established in Shenyang, Hangzhou, Xiaogan, Xi, Guangzhou and Chengdu, and provincial disaster preparedness centers have been established in Beijing, Shanghai, Yunnan and Hunan provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government). Some cities have also established disaster preparedness centers or warehouses to store relief materials and train relief personnel, and a disaster preparedness and relief network has taken shape.

The emergency management system of China Red Cross Society has been gradually improved, and 32 provincial Red Cross Societies (including Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps) have formulated emergency plans, of which 27 emergency plans have been incorporated into the provincial overall emergency plan system.

China Red Cross Society carries out primary health care training and popularization of disease prevention knowledge according to law, organizes the training of ambulance workers in industries prone to accidental injuries and grass-roots organizations, and organizes the masses to participate in on-site rescue of accidental injuries and natural disasters.

Health care and humanitarian assistance

Assist the government to carry out publicity and promotion of blood donation without compensation, and commend advanced units and individuals.

Promote the donation of remains (organs); Carry out AIDS prevention publicity and health education.

Actively carry out publicity, mobilization and organization of hematopoietic stem cell donation. By the end of 2007, the capacity of China hematopoietic stem cell donor database has reached 700,000.

China Red Cross Society has established more than16,000 community Red Cross service stations and more than 500 Bo 'ai supermarkets. On the basis of Pok Oi Service Station and Pok Oi Supermarket, various community Red Cross service activities will be carried out to meet the needs of the masses.

In 1 18 counties across the country, the pilot work of participating in the new rural cooperative medical system and medical assistance was carried out, and nearly 600 Red Cross Pok Oi health centers (stations) were built to carry out effective activities to pay attention to farmers' health and help the government solve the problems of difficult and expensive medical treatment for farmers.

The "Red Cross Angel Project" provides medical assistance to poor farmers and children suffering from serious diseases, assists the government in improving medical and health conditions in poor villages, donates to build rural Pok Oi health centers (stations) and trains rural doctors.

According to the spirit of the memorandum of cooperation signed by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the International Olympic Committee, the China Red Cross signed a memorandum of cooperation with BOCOG in March 2007, and formally participated in the service of the 29th Olympic Games. During the Olympic Games, the China Red Cross will do a good job in primary health care training for Olympic volunteers, participate in social volunteer service and urban emergency volunteer service, promote unpaid blood donation, and publicize AIDS prevention knowledge, so as to provide life support for the Beijing Olympic Games.

Publicity and fund-raising of the Red Cross

To publicize international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions and the basic principles of the Red Cross Movement, the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Red Cross Society, the Measures for the Use of the Red Cross Symbol in People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Articles of Association of the China Red Cross Society. Carry out various forms of publicity such as "Red Cross Charity Week" and public service advertisements, and carry forward the Red Cross spirit of "humanity, fraternity and dedication".

Actively carry out fundraising work through various channels such as SMS fundraising, online fundraising, post office remittance and bank transfer.

The China Red Cross Society provides humanitarian education and knowledge education on self-help and mutual rescue for young Red Cross students in schools of all levels and types, carries out social service activities, cooperates with quality education in schools, improves students' health status and promotes students' moral education development; Carry out international exchanges and enhance friendship with young people of the Red Cross in various countries.
